DanMachi, also known as Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is an anime series based on a Japanese light novel written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda.
The television adaptation of the anime premiered in 2015 and has since gathered several international fans who are patiently waiting for each new episode.
Season 3 just stumbled upon Crunchyroll in October, and with the season set to end this week, fans are already wondering if DanMachi Season 4 is underway. Here's what we know so far.
Will there be a Season 4 of DanMachi?
Season 3 has just been released in October 2020, thanks (but not thanks to) the Covid-19 pandemic that has delayed the animated series compared to its initial July 2020 schedule.
DanMachi isn't really one of the best anime out there, but it has a unique charm that captures the viewer's attention with each new episode.
Although the anime series only gets an average rating, it still managed to get an active fan base, which is still hoping for a fourth season.
DanMachi renewals are often announced towards the end of each season, and since Season 3 ends this on Crunchyroll.
As part of the “GA FES 2021”, it was announced that the anime implementation of “DanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? will receive a fourth season.
DanMachi Season 4 Release Date
The television adaptation of J.C.Staff (Golden Time, Toradora, A Certain Scientific Railgun, The Duke of Death and His Maid & The Demon Girl Next Door) premiered in Japan from April 4 to June 27, 2015, followed by an OVA released on December 7, 2016. The anime series has been renewed for season 4.
A movie called Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Arrow of the Orion was released on February 15, 2019. Then, fans were treated to season 2 of the animated series, from July 13 to September 28, 2019.
On September 27, 2019, a day before the final episode of Season 2 aired, a third season of anime and an OVA episode were announced.
As mentioned, Season 3 was supposed to air in July, but the pandemic pushed the air date back to October 2020.
The official Twitter account of the anime adaptation of “DanMachi: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?” announced that the upcoming fourth season of the series will begin airing on Japanese TV on July 22, 2022.

DanMachi Season 4: What could be the plot?
DanMachi takes place in a fictional city in the Oreario, where the gods descend to seek excitement, limiting their divine powers to experience the difficulties of mere mortals.
Somewhere in Orario there is an underground labyrinth called a dungeon, a dangerous place filled with monsters but also loaded with treasures for those who could defeat them.
Adventurers who could defeat monsters could take treasures and crystal shards, which they could use to craft magical items or use as a bargaining chip in the real world.
Among these adventurers is the protagonist Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old lone explorer under the guidance of the goddess Hestia.
Bell is in love and is looking for a skilled swords who saved his life, unaware that other girls in the dungeon, including the goddess Hestia herself, are also slowly falling in love with him.
Season 3 expanded the plot of the animated series, introducing new characters and stories that fans weren't expecting.
It's impossible to predict what exactly Season 4 will be. However, it will certainly revolve around Bell and his exciting adventures.
