First Look: Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ Trailer

A new man has donned the cowl and taken up the mantle of The Batman, and his name is Robert Pattinson. Fans were treated with a first look at the upcoming film The Batman during the DC FanDome event. 

Ahead of the trailer for The Batman, director Matt Reeves released a gorgeous poster for the film, created by Jim Lee.

In the opening fanfare for DC FanDome, some of the most famous BatCat moments from Batman Returns and Batman: The Animated Series were teased. But will The Batman trailer deliver on the highly anticipated chemistry between Robert Pattinson's broody Bruce Wayne and Zoë Kravitz's badass Selina Kyle? You will have to watch to find out for yourself.

It's hard not to be excited about the upcoming film, following Matt Reeves's infectious enthusiasm and passion for the character during the panel.

Reeves explained how we meet Bruce Wayne in the midst of Year Two. It's not an origin story; it's his second year as Batman. Audiences will also see the Riddler, the Penguin, and Catwoman's evolution as they grow into their monikers. Reeves also confirmed that his forthcoming HBOMax series centered around the Gotham City P.D.  is about the corrupt police department, set a year before The Batman.
