How many copies did Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord sell? Here's the sales report of the long-awaited sequel in the last 2 years.
Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord was one of the most anticipated games before it entered the early access period. The world of gaming had been playing Warband for thousands of hours before the sequel finally dropped in April 2020.
Since it arrived in the middle of the pandemic, Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord has received a ton of updates and gained massive popularity. With TaleWorlds Entertainment still hard at work to bring the game to the full release, players are curious about the sale performance of the sequel. How many copies did the game sell?
How many copies did Bannerlord sell?
Based on the statement of Armagan Yavuz, the Co-Founder of TaleWorlds Entertainment, Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord has sold at least 3.100.000 copies since its early access launch.
Yavuz also added that they were looking forward to preparing the game for its full version. He elaborated on how they are working on the game and the support of the community in a recent interview video made with Disket Kutusu, a YouTube channel from Turkey.
It became the highest-selling game on Steam in the first week
The title invited players to Calradia back on March 30th, 2020. In the first week after the early access launch, M&B II: Bannerlord sold more than Resident Evil 3, DOOM Eternal, Half-Life Alyx, and Grand Theft Auto V.
It continued to stay on Steam's bestselling titles in the following weeks. It now stands strong after 2 years of constant support and development, getting closer to the full release.
The future of Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord
Console owners have been hoping to see the Mount and Blade franchise on their consoles for a really long time. It seems like their dreams will come true in the future. The head of TaleWorlds answered the question of how many copies Bannerlord sells and the roadmap of the title, including a console version.
We have been in the early access period for some time now. But we aim to bring Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord to consoles as well. That is a quite difficult process and I might even say that it feels as if you are rebuilding the game from scratch.
Yavuz also talked about the difficulties of developing a console port for their game. Though he did not specify to which consoles they are planning to bring the title.
All of the console giants have unique demands but they all want you to provide a game with zero technical issues. Everything must be in order if you want your game on these platforms.
We also want to bring Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord to the previous last generation of consoles. But I can not reveal the platforms at this point.
Is Bannerlord getting better?
There is no doubt that Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord has come a really long way since April 2020. The game evolved into a solid sandbox title in the last 2 years. We also know that the developers aim to release the full version in the last quarter of 2022. It is safe to say it is worth playing M&B II: Bannerlord in 2022.
Thanks to the updates with huge file sizes and major changes, Bannerlord offers the ultimate medieval sandbox experience in the land of Calradia. We are sure that the team at TaleWorlds is working hard to offer much more in the full version.
