Here are the latest news and updates on Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord full release date. Is the medieval sandbox RPG ready to leave the early access?
It has been two years since the long-awaited sequel of the Mount and Blade franchise went into early access. The title has come a long way in the last 2 years and is now in version 1.8.0. With more than 3 million copies sold, M&B II: Bannerlord is, hopefully, getting closer to its full version as well. We also know that the developer is planning to bring the game to consoles.
TaleWorlds Entertainment announced that Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord would be ready for full release in Q2 2022. But we have already passed that timeline and a great number of players do not think that the game is ready to leave the early access.
Here's our take on the game's current status and the latest updates on the title's full release.
What is the release date of Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord full version?
As of this writing, we do not have any official information on our hands regarding the full release of the game. But we do expect that Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord will be ready to leave its early access state in Q4 2022.
It is safe to say that the medieval sandbox has received a great amount of much-needed changes and improvements. But most players think that Bannerlord is still not ready to leave the early access period. Here are some of the biggest changes and improvements the title has received over the course of two years.
What's new in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord?
There have been major changes and improvements in fief and kingdom management. On top of a complete overhaul of the skill tree, the developers also implemented the battle terrain system. The new system creates a battle scenery based on the location of the player on the campaign map.
The game also has seen much progress in performance and stability. The title now runs a lot better and has reduced loading times. The constant stuttering and sudden FPS drops now belong to the past.
Instead of installing the same old sceneries, the battle terrain system analyzes the player's location on the campaign map and offers an in-game terrain to reflect that specific coordination. This, of course, is an amazing addition to the game as it enhances immersion.
There are also a ton of QoL changes and UI improvements that increases the game's communication with the player. All of these improvements and many more will definitely change your mind if you didn't like the game when it first came out.
Should you play Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord in 2022?
It is safe to say M&B II: Bannerlord is in a great place both in terms of gameplay and performance. The current status of the title offers enough to keep you invested in it for a really long time. While it definitely needs a bit more time to reach its maximum potential, Bannerlord offers a rewarding experience that will make you happy for sure.
On the other hand, we all know that one of the best things about Mount and Blade is the massive modding support. Before TaleWorlds Entertainment releases the full version, they have to make sure that the modded content works properly with the base game. Fortunately, the team at TaleWorlds has always been supportive of the modding community as they have even worked together with various modders in the past.
