Kardashian Wedding: ‘Short Wedding Dress’ Searches Rise 231%

The Italian coast of Portofino was the perfect setting for Kourtney Kardashian's third wedding celebration with husband Travis Barker. The couple exchanged vows overlooking a medieval castle by the sea, and she wore an elegant white lace mini dress that highlighted both her curves.

The bride walked down the aisle wearing a delicate Cathedral-length veil and matching scalloped hem dress designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Kourtney added fingerless gloves to complete the look.

Google Searches Skyrocket

Analysis of Google search data reveals that online searches for ‘Short wedding dress' skyrocketed 231% worldwide on the 23rd of May, the day after the Italian wedding extravaganza.

A new finding by AskGamblers reveals that online interest in short wedding dresses exploded to more than double the average volume in one day, an unprecedented spike in interest for short wedding dresses, according to Google search data analysis.

A spokesperson for AskGamblers commented on the findings:

“The Kardashians have such a monumental influence on our style and sense of what's trending around the world, and it's fascinating to see how Kourtney Kardashian's wedding has led to such an immediate spike in interest for similar styles of wedding dresses. Short-length wedding dresses have already seen a slight rise in popularity thanks to the likes of Lily Allen and Whitney Port, and with Kourtney's dress, designed by Dolce & Gabbana, the trend is clearly here to stay.”

An Italian Affair

The ceremony took place at Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana's seaside compound in Portofino. The family has been staying at the estate during their Italian trip.

The newlyweds treated their guests to a wedding reception in one of Italy's most historic buildings, which once served as an overwatch observation point for soldiers during medieval times. Castello Brown is a historic castle dating from the 13th century that was once used as a military lookout.

Kourtney's three children, Mason, 12, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 7, were all in attendance at the wedding.

Short Wedding Dress Trends

The trendiness of a short bridal gown has waxed and waned since the 1920s. However, it's recently taken off again and has become an essential component of wedding fashion.

There have even been some changes in recent years in what lengths are considered “short.” Now, shorter hems can be paired with elegant affairs without looking too casual or low-key during more relaxed moments, while guests toast the future spouses before they walk down the aisle.

This was not the first time Kourtney wore a short wedding dress, either. For the couple's “official,” aka legal, wedding vows, which took place earlier this month in Santa Barbara, Kourtney opted for a short white Dolce & Gabbana lace dress with a corseted bodice and a heart-shaped decoration at the bust. The vintage veil she chose to accessorize the outfit had attached sleeves.

If you're looking for a show-stopping wedding dress that is sure to turn heads, a short dress could be the perfect choice for you. And with the vast array of styles and designs available, there is sure to be a short wedding dress out there to suit every bride's unique taste.
