On December 26, 2021, the official Twitter of the anime series The Faraway Paladin announced that The Faraway Paladin Season 2 is currently in production. Many fans didn't see this coming, and now they are thrilled to see the new sequel.
The Faraway Paladin is one of the many isekai shows that doesn't get that much recognition in the anime industry. Despite that, it offers a unique premise that sets it apart from the others in the competition. The Faraway Paladin revolves around a character named William, a guy who just got reincarnated into a new world. Upon awakening, he immediately saw the face of three figures: a skeleton, a ghost, and a mummy. William got raised by them and he learns so many different things as he grows. He will have to be prepared for the day when he will have to set out on his own.
The Faraway Paladin started out as a Japanese light novel series entitled Saihate no Paladin, written by Kanata Yanagino with illustrations by Kususaga Rin. It was initially serialized online in May 2015 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō, before it was acquired by Overlap on March 25, 2016. Overlap has published four volumes since then under their Overlap Bunko imprint. Luckily, international fans can already enjoy the novel series as it has been published digitally in English by J-Novel Club since February 2, 2017.
The Faraway Paladin Manga Series
The light novel series The Faraway Paladin was later adapted into a manga series with art by Mutsumi Okuhashi. It has been serialized online since September 25, 2017, on Overlap's Comic Gardo website. September 25, 2021, the individual chapters have been collected into eight tankobon volumes. Also, just like the light novel series, the manga series The Faraway Paladin has been published digitally in English by J-Novel Club since November 26, 2019.
When will The Faraway Paladin Season 2 be released?
The anime adaptation of the light novel series The Faraway Paladin was produced by Children's Playground Entertainment, the studio that has released several shows before such as Hatena Illusion and Tsukiuta The Animation 2. Although the studio hasn't stood out in the industry through its releases, you shouldn't really look down on what Children's Playground Entertainment is capable of doing animation-wise.
The anime series The Faraway Paladin premiered on October 9, 2021, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on January 3, 2022. During the airing, a second season of the anime series was announced. However, the exact release date was not included in the news. So, when will The Faraway Paladin Season 2 be released?
