Review: Trekking the World is an Unexpectedly Educational Adventure

Pick up your paper suitcase, choose your favorite color, and prepare to set off on a global adventure competing against one to four of your favorite travelers.

Trekking the World takes you from Banff to Timbuktu, from the Acropolis to the Terracotta Army, and everywhere in between.

Trekking the World is a surprisingly simplistic tabletop game. It comes with a board game featuring six of the seven continents, several decks of cards for souvenirs, sightseeing, and treks, and brightly colored wooden figures and cubes to play with.

The rules of the game are fairly straightforward as well. You and your fellow travelers start out at a location or an airport and then pulling Trek cards that dictate how many moves you can make across the board.

Depending on where you land, you might collect a colorful wooden cube that helps you build points to collect souvenirs, and you might even land on a spot that you can collect a tour card for.

As you move around the globe, your goal is to collect as many cubes as possible to fill out your passport to collect souvenirs, take as many tours as possible, and race to visit every location on the continent.
