15 Underrated Cinematic Masterpieces To Put On Your Watch List

There are so many excellent movies out there that I don't know about, and that haunts me every day! Luckily, Redditor u/globeworldmap asked the r/flicks subreddit about their favorite underrated films to help fill in the gaps.

u/globeworldmap asked, “What is the film that you consider an absolute masterpiece but that is not considered a masterpiece?”

Movie lovers had a lot of great input.

u/jfstompers shared, “Out of Sight, just great mood and chemistry, great Soderbergh work here.”

u/Randomscholar added, “The Mosquito Coast. Good acting all around with special mention to Harrison Ford, I truly think this is his best performance.” “I don't know if critics loved it or not offhand, but I scarcely hear it mentioned.”

u/bill__the__butcher replied, “Burn After Reading. It’s the Coen’s finest comedy.”

u/MovieBuff90 responded, “Mask. It’s definitely regarded as a good movie and I believe it got an Oscar nomination for make-up, but it’s never brought up in conversations like this.”

u/filladellfea said, “Commando – hear me out. Pretty much the best example of over-the-top 80s action, pun-filled dialogue, with an absurd plot line centered around an excuse to show off a generational fame icon.”
