Alabama Barker said she had not spoken to her older brother, Landon, for nearly four weeks after sharing something about him with their father, Travis Barker.
The 20-year-old discussed the fallout with her stepmother, Kourtney Kardashian, during the October 22 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians. Alabama and Landon, 23, are the children of the Blink-182 drummer and his former wife, Shanna Moakler.
The conversation began when Kourtney mentioned plans to visit Landon’s new home. Alabama hadn’t seen the property, prompting Kourtney to ask whether the siblings were still not communicating.
Alabama described passing Landon in the hallway without speaking, according to Us Weekly. She also said she would leave the kitchen while he was making food.
Alabama Says Telling Travis Was for Landon’s Own Good
Alabama did not reveal what she had learned about her brother. “It wasn’t that I was tattletaling. It was for his own good,” she said. When Kourtney suggested that Alabama had been worried about Landon’s safety, Alabama agreed. “Yeah, because I love him,” she said.
Kourtney reassured her stepdaughter that caring about a sibling can sometimes mean telling a parent something the sibling would rather keep private.
Kourtney Recalls Her Fallout With Kim Over a Secret Marriage
Kourtney recalled a similar stretch of silence with her sister Kim. She initially placed their four-week falling-out during high school, then corrected herself and said it happened while she was in college.
Kim married music producer Damon Thomas in Las Vegas in 2000, when she was 19. Kourtney said her sister hadn’t told her about the wedding. She learned the news from friends.
In a confessional included in PEOPLE’s preview, released October 21, Kourtney recalled telling their mother, Kris Jenner, what she knew. Kris had already been hearing congratulations from a nail technician.
Kim’s response, according to Kourtney, was blunt: “You’re ruining my life!” Thomas filed for divorce in 2003, and the divorce was finalized in 2004, according to TV Insider.
Alabama Attended Landon’s 23rd Birthday Party
Alabama attended Landon’s Vampire Ball birthday celebration on October 10, before the episode aired. Us Weekly reported that Landon’s party photographs included a picture with his younger sister.
Alabama wore a black lace ensemble and bright red hair for the occasion. She also posed for a selfie with Atiana De La Hoya, who joined the family at the party, according to PEOPLE.
Landon dressed in black leather with vampire makeup and fake blood at the side of his mouth. Kourtney wore black lace, while Travis opted for a red velvet jacket. Both wore fake blood around their mouths.
The birthday cake matched the theme, with black icing, flowers and silver candles. Landon captioned his party photos with a lyric about being 23 from Blink-182’s “What’s My Age Again?”
Travis also marked his son’s birthday in a separate Instagram tribute on October 9. “I’m so proud of the person you’ve become and deeply honored to call you my son,” he wrote.
