Anthony Edwards and his longtime partner, Shannon Jackson, are officially married after keeping the milestone largely out of the public eye.

Minnesota marriage records show that the Timberwolves star and Jackson married on July 16 in Hennepin County.

News of the wedding emerged one week later, after reporters located the public certificate.

The couple has been together publicly since 2020 and shares a 2-year-old daughter, Aislynn. Jackson has regularly supported Edwards from courtside as his career has grown from No. 1 NBA draft pick to one of the league’s leading stars.

A Black Ring Sparked Speculation One Day Later

The Minnesota Star Tribune confirmed the marriage through a certificate issued by Hennepin County.  TMZ subsequently confirmed the same date through Minnesota records.

Fans began questioning Edwards’ relationship status after he appeared at Fanatics Fest in New York City on July 17, one day after the date listed on the marriage certificate. Observers noticed that the 24-year-old NBA star was wearing a black band on his left ring finger during his appearances and interviews at the event.

Edwards and Jackson Went Public in 2020

Edwards and Jackson made their relationship public in November 2020, the same month the Timberwolves selected him with the first overall pick in the NBA draft.

Jackson has since appeared courtside during Timberwolves games and supported Edwards through major moments in his career. She also traveled to Paris when he helped the United States men’s basketball team win an Olympic gold medal in 2024.

The couple made a joint fashion appearance in June 2026, attending Prada’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during Milan Men’s Fashion Week. They posed together after the June 21 show.

Edwards and Jackson welcomed their daughter, Aislynn, on March 1, 2024. Her birth became part of Edwards’ storyline in the Netflix series Starting 5. The Timberwolves were playing the Sacramento Kings that night, but Edwards left the game at halftime so he could join Jackson at the hospital.

Edwards later said that becoming a father had changed his perspective and given him additional motivation. Jackson has shared photographs of Aislynn at Timberwolves games, where she has watched her father play from courtside.
