Antonio Cipriano’s girlfriend, Justine Verheul, pushed back after an Off Campus fan turned discussion about his character into a comment about his body.

Cipriano plays John Logan in Off Campus, Prime Video’s adaptation of Elle Kennedy’s hockey romance books. According to Capital FM, one viewer reportedly left a comment under one of Verheul’s posts telling her to ask Cipriano to “bulk up” before season 2.

The commenter reportedly argued that Logan is supposed to be “BIG” in the books and suggested Cipriano could face criticism if he did not gain weight before the show returns. Verheul replied, “maybe let’s not comment on people’s weight. all love though.”

Verheul Drew a Line Around the Comment

Capital FM reported that the original comment has since been deleted. The outlet said the viewer framed the remark as concern over how Cipriano might be treated by fans, but Verheul’s response kept the focus on a basic boundary around commenting on someone’s weight.

After the exchange, Verheul also posted on Instagram Stories that she was taking “a much needed social media break,” according to Capital FM.

Cipriano Plays John Logan in Off Campus

Off Campus follows students and hockey players at the fictional Briar University. PEOPLE reported that the first season adapts The Deal, the first book in Kennedy’s series, with Ella Bright as Hannah Wells and Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham.

Cipriano plays John Logan, one of Garrett’s teammates. Capital FM reported that India Fowler has been cast as Grace Ivers, Logan’s love interest from the second book, The Mistake.

That explains why fans are already talking about Logan’s next storyline. It does not make Cipriano’s body a public assignment.

Verheul is a performing artist, director, and educator. PEOPLE reported that she trained at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York City after growing up with ballet and musical theater.

Her work includes regional and off-Broadway performance credits, along with directing and choreographing more than 10 musicals for middle and high school theater programs.

PEOPLE reported that Verheul and Cipriano have been dating since at least August 2023. Cipriano first appeared on her Instagram in May 2022, and she marked their one-year anniversary in August 2024 with a video of the two singing “Lucky” by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz.

The Couple Also Works Together

Verheul and Cipriano launched Might Be Smart Productions in 2025, a musical theater education and production company focused on workshops, masterclasses, and performances.

PEOPLE reported that the company’s Instagram page shared in March 2026 that Verheul and Cipriano co-produced a sold-out London production of In Pieces, with Cipriano starring in the show.

Cipriano also told PEOPLE that he was working as Verheul’s assistant director on a production of Mamma Mia! when he received his second callback for Off Campus.

Verheul’s reply was short, but it made the point clearly: fans can talk about Logan, Grace, and season 2 without turning Cipriano’s appearance into something for strangers to manage.
