Ariana Grande turned the second night of her London residency into a surprise Wicked reunion when Cynthia Erivo joined her onstage at The O2.
Grande welcomed her Wicked costar during the encore on Sunday, Aug. 16. The pair performed “For Good” from Wicked: For Good, then followed it with their mashup of “Get Happy” and “Happy Days Are Here Again,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
The appearance reunited the voices behind Glinda and Elphaba onstage for the first time since November 2025. Footage from the concert showed Erivo in a white tuxedo-style dress and Grande in a short white dress as they sang together and embraced in front of the London crowd.
The concert was the second date in Grande’s 10-show engagement at the arena. The venue’s official listing says the residency runs from Aug. 15 through Sept. 1, when London will bring the Eternal Sunshine Tour to a close.

Erivo’s arrival gave the encore an immediate connection to the film roles that have linked the two performers for years. Audience footage captured the pair beginning “For Good,” the emotional farewell between Glinda and Elphaba near the end.
Grande played Glinda opposite Erivo’s Elphaba in 2024’s Wicked and its 2025 sequel. Their performances in the first film earned both women Academy Award nominations, with Erivo nominated for Best Actress and Grande for Best Supporting Actress.
“For Good” was also part of their previous live collaboration. During NBC’s Wicked: One Wonderful Night on Nov. 6, 2025, Grande and Erivo performed the number with original Broadway stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel, while composer Stephen Schwartz accompanied them at the piano.

The surprise did not end with the Wicked ballad. Grande and Erivo remained onstage for “Get Happy, Happy Days Are Here Again,” with their separate vocal lines eventually meeting as the arrangement built toward its finale.
The medley has a history that predates either performer. Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand made the pairing famous on The Judy Garland Show in 1963, combining Garland’s “Get Happy” with Streisand’s “Happy Days Are Here Again.”
Grande and Erivo debuted their own version during Wicked: One Wonderful Night in November 2025. A PEOPLE account of the televised duet traced the arrangement back to Garland and Streisand’s celebrated performance and noted that Grande and Erivo performed their version twice during the taping.
Eight London Shows Remain Before Grande Steps Back From Visibility
Grande opened her London run on Aug. 15 and has eight more performances scheduled at The O2 after the Erivo appearance. The sold-out dates continue through Sept. 1, making the 10-night residency the final leg of the tour.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour is Grande’s first concert tour in six years. The O2 says the production was launched in support of her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine and its expanded edition, Eternal Sunshine: Brighter Days Ahead. Grande has since incorporated material from her eighth studio album, Petal, released in July.
The final London shows also come before a planned reduction in Grande’s public schedule. Her representative told PEOPLE earlier in August that she would be “taking a step back from visibility” after the tour and wanted to finish the run “both healthily and happily.”
