Candace Cameron Bure has officially entered her “CandyGram” era, but her first grandchild arrived much earlier than the family expected.
Her son Lev Bure and his wife, Elliott, welcomed a baby boy named Bond Leo Bure on Aug. 4, 10 weeks before his expected arrival.
Elliott revealed the news publicly on Sept. 27, writing that Bond weighed exactly 3 pounds at birth and was transferred immediately to the NICU, details Us Weekly reported from the family’s announcement.
The couple then spent more than five weeks waiting to bring him home. Elliott said Bond remained in the hospital for five weeks and five days before that moment finally came, while Candace celebrated in the comments by calling him their “miracle baby” and praising Lev and Elliott as parents.

Elliott’s announcement offered the first public look at a difficult stretch the family had largely kept private. Alongside photographs of Bond from his earliest weeks, she described the tears, prayers and long hours that followed his premature birth before the couple was finally able to take him home.
She also thanked the nurses and doctors who cared for Bond and the friends and relatives who supported the family during his hospital stay. Parade noted that Candace responded directly beneath the announcement, telling Lev and Elliott that their family would be there “for every minute of it” as they settled into life at home with their son.
Candace and Valeri’s family is still expanding. Natasha and Bradley announced their own pregnancy on May 7, several weeks before Lev and Elliott revealed theirs, with PEOPLE reporting that the couple had long talked about wanting children after marrying in September 2025.
Candace Had Been Waiting to Become ‘CandyGram’
Candace had already settled on her preferred grandmother name long before Bond arrived. In a 2024 Us Weekly interview, she said she hoped future grandchildren would call her “Candy Gram,” even while joking that not everyone in the family was convinced by the nickname.
The name became real in May when Natasha announced her pregnancy. Candace quickly wrote that “CandyGram” was in full effect, and after Lev and Elliott revealed later that month that they were expecting too, she upgraded the celebration to “CandyGram x2.” PEOPLE reported that Lev and Elliott shared their news with maternity photos and a sonogram while Natasha celebrated the prospect of the cousins arriving close together.
Candace later said she had once hoped to become a grandmother in her 40s but was just as happy for the milestone to happen during the year she turned 50. She described herself as “over the moon” while waiting for the family’s next generation to arrive.
Lev and Elliott Married in 2024
Bond’s arrival comes a little more than two years after Lev and Elliott married in January 2024. At the time, Candace described gaining a daughter and said she was learning to step back as her son created his own family, focusing on being available rather than trying to direct every decision.
PEOPLE later quoted Candace calling Lev’s wedding one of the highlights of her life and describing how emotional it was to watch him begin that chapter. When the couple announced their pregnancy this May, she returned to the same theme, writing that she and husband Valeri Bure believed Lev and Elliott would be “incredible parents.”
