Cardi B has a direct answer for fans who keep telling her to stay single.
The Grammy-winning rapper addressed the advice during an X Spaces conversation on July 22, after listeners suggested that she should focus on herself instead of dating again. Cardi said she had already spent her Little Miss Drama Tour single, without dates, conversations or casual romantic attention.
She also acknowledged briefly returning to an unnamed past situation before leaving it again. Since then, Cardi said, she has been going out, traveling, drinking, spending time with friends and enjoying herself.
That still does not mean she plans to give up on romance. “I’m not going to be single for the rest of my life,” she said.
Cardi B Said She Needs ‘Some Entertainment’
Cardi began the discussion after seeing fans tell her they wanted her to remain single and stay focused on herself.
“B*tch, I’m not going to be single for the rest of my life,” Cardi said in a recording from the X Spaces conversation, according to People. “I was single throughout my whole tour. Single, not talking to nobody, not entertaining nobody, not anything.”

Cardi said she later “slipped up” and went back to “some bulls—,” but left the situation quickly. She did not name the person she was referring to.
She said she has since been “living” her life, going outside, chilling with friends, vacationing and having fun. “But even me and my friends, even when we have a ball, we need some entertainment,” she said.
Cardi B Said She Could Pick Better Men
Cardi admitted that fans may have a point about some of her past choices. “Could I pick better men? Probably. Maybe. So, whatever,” she said.
She also said dating is different for her because she cannot casually meet someone in public without it becoming a larger story. “I got to be a little bit more exclusive,” she said, according to Complex.
Cardi added that she does not give her number out easily and rarely likes someone enough to pursue a relationship. She said that is part of why she tends to stay with people for a long time once she develops feelings.
The rapper ended the point with one of the bluntest lines from the conversation: “Life is cool. Life is everything. But it’s just like, all right, the pu**y needs love too.”
Stefon Diggs Was Her Most Recent Public Relationship
Cardi was most recently linked to NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The two welcomed a son together in November 2025 and later had an on-and-off relationship.
Breakup speculation grew around the 2026 Super Bowl, after Cardi and Diggs unfollowed each other and she gave him a short “good luck” message before the game. During a February stop on her Little Miss Drama Tour, Cardi told the audience she was no longer involved with her “baby daddy.”
A source told People at the time that Cardi had pulled back from the relationship after it became “too heated and complicated.” The source said she shifted her attention to her children, music and tour.
Another source told People in May that Diggs had made more effort and regained some of Cardi’s attention. Neither Cardi nor Diggs publicly confirmed that they had formally reconciled.
Recent Outings With Maduka Okoye Sparked Rumors
Cardi’s comments followed recent sightings with Nigerian soccer player Maduka Okoye during European fashion events.
She and Okoye sat near each other at the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show in Paris earlier in July. Dazed noted that Okoye was seated between Cardi and Amanda Lear at the show, while Page Six reported that he helped Cardi to her seat during the event.
They were also seen at a group dinner in Italy later in the month. Neither Cardi nor Okoye has confirmed a romantic relationship.
Cardi did not mention Okoye by name while responding to fans who want her to stay single. Her comments focused on the broader attention surrounding her dating life and why she does not plan to avoid relationships altogether.
