Céline Dion is back in Paris, this time with considerably more than a one-song appearance ahead of her.
The 58-year-old singer arrived at the Royal Monceau on Aug. 28, where fans and journalists were waiting as she stepped from her car, blew kisses and made a heart with her hands. “I am ready and I’m a bit uptight of course because it’s been a long time,” Dion told BFMTV, according to The Associated Press.
On Sept. 12, Dion is scheduled to begin a 16-show run at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre that continues through Oct. 17. Another 10 concerts are already scheduled for May 2027. They will be her first full concerts since the Courage World Tour stopped in March 2020 and her first concert series since she publicly revealed her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in 2022.
Dion has already made one major return to a Paris stage, performing Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower during the 2024 Olympic opening ceremony.
Dion Stopped to Greet Fans Outside the Royal Monceau
Dion arrived at the Royal Monceau wearing a beige trench coat, dark sunglasses and black footwear, then stopped for several minutes to acknowledge the crowd gathered behind barriers outside the Paris hotel.
Fans shouted that they loved her and were happy to see her as cameras surrounded the entrance. Dion waved, blew kisses and made a heart gesture with her hands before speaking briefly to reporters.
Dion acknowledged that she was nervous after so much time away from full concerts, thanked the people who had come to see her and described Paris as her “second home.” The hotel is also where she stayed around her 2024 Olympics performance.
Sixteen Shows Begin September 12, With 10 More Coming in 2027
The first leg of Céline Dion Paris 2026-2027 begins Sept. 12 and runs through Oct. 17. The Plenitude Arena lists 16 performances during that period, mostly on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The engagement was originally announced in March as 10 concerts. Demand prompted Dion to add six more 2026 dates, producing the current 16-show schedule.
That was not the end of the expansion. Ten additional performances were announced for May 2027, running from May 8 through May 29. Dion’s official site said the second block was created in response to demand from fans who had registered for the initial 2026 presales but were unable to secure tickets.
The arena, formerly known as Paris La Défense Arena, sits in Nanterre just west of central Paris. The production is being presented by Concerts West/AEG Presents and Inter Concerts, with Willo Perron serving as creative director. Official promotional material says the show will draw from Dion’s biggest French and English-language songs.
Her Last Full Concert Was in March 2020
The six-year gap began under very different circumstances from the health issues that later kept Dion from returning. Her official biography identifies March 7 and 8, 2020, in Newark, New Jersey, as the final two concerts she performed on the Courage World Tour before the COVID-19 pandemic forced the remaining dates to be postponed.
Dion completed 52 shows on the tour before the pandemic interruption. Attempts to resume performing were later complicated by health problems, including severe and persistent muscle spasms.
On Dec. 8, 2022, Dion publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke describes the condition as a rare neurological disorder whose symptoms can include muscle stiffness and spasms.
After further postponements, Dion canceled the remaining 2023 and 2024 dates of the Courage World Tour in May 2023, saying she was still working to rebuild her strength and could not properly prepare for touring at that time.
The Paris Olympics Were a One-Song Return
Dion’s July 2024 appearance at the Paris Olympics broke that long absence from live performance. As the opening ceremony’s final musical performer, she sang Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the first level of the Eiffel Tower.
Her Paris engagement was formally announced on March 30, 2026, Dion’s 58th birthday. At the time, she said she was feeling strong and excited but also acknowledged some nerves about performing again. When BFMTV asked which song she would perform first, Dion replied, “I can’t say, it’s a big secret!”
