DJ Fat Tony says the spectacle surrounding Brooklyn Beckham’s estrangement from his parents has obscured the most painful part of the dispute, a son is no longer speaking to his family.
The British DJ, whose real name is Tony Marnoch, performed throughout Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham’s three-day wedding celebration in Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022. He later became one of the few guests to publicly discuss the dance between Brooklyn and Victoria Beckham that developed into a central part of the family fallout.
In a June interview with The Telegraph, Tony revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola had asked him to address the controversy. He said he wanted to stop increasingly exaggerated speculation about the wedding without attacking David or Victoria.
Brooklyn said in January that he did not want to reconcile with his family, but Tony still expects the separation to end. “I always like to see a happy ending, and I think that they will as a family all get back together,” he said.

When asked whether Brooklyn and Nicola had approved his decision to speak publicly, Tony replied, “Yeah, I was,” before mentioning a WhatsApp group he shares with the couple. “I just kind of thought, you know what, I’m not going to throw anyone under a bus, I just spoke from the heart,” he said. “I wasn’t there to slag off Victoria and David. I wasn’t spilling the beans.”
Tony also rejected online claims that he had violated a nondisclosure agreement by discussing the wedding. He said he had not signed one. “It was getting to the point where everyone forgot the reality was that some kid’s hurting and a family’s lost their son,” Tony said. “I wanted to shut that down and change the narrative.”
He described the Beckhams as both a family and “a massive brand,” arguing that the global attention attached to their name has made an already difficult private dispute harder to resolve.
He Says the Timing Made the Wedding Dance Awkward
His appearance on This Morning offered a description of what he said happened. Tony said Marc Anthony was performing when he invited Brooklyn onto the stage. Guests expected Nicola to join her husband for their planned first dance, but Anthony instead called for “the most beautiful woman in the room” and named Victoria.
According to Tony, Brooklyn remained onstage while Nicola left the room crying. Anthony then instructed Brooklyn to place his hands on his mother’s hips as they danced to Latin music. “The whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room,” Tony said. “There was no slut-dropping, there was no black PVC catsuits, there was no Spice Girl action,” he said.
Tony also noted that Anthony had unexpectedly placed Victoria in the situation rather than suggesting she had planned to replace Nicola. He said Brooklyn’s reaction remained the central issue. “If he felt it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate,” Tony told the program. The dance, he added, was only “a very small part of the bigger problem.”
Brooklyn Said He Does Not Want to Reconcile

Brooklyn publicly confirmed the family rift in a January 19 Instagram statement. “I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he wrote. “I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
He accused his parents of controlling media narratives about the family, placing “Brand Beckham” ahead of private relationships and trying to damage his marriage. Brooklyn also claimed that Victoria withdrew from making Nicola’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony, that his parents pressured him over rights connected to his name and that his mother “hijacked” the planned first dance.
Victoria later said in an interview that she and David “always tried to be the best parents” and that they had only attempted to protect and love their children. Brooklyn and Nicola were absent when David received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star on June 12, while Victoria, Romeo, Cruz and Harper attended the ceremony.
Brooklyn subsequently appeared to reference the dispute in a DoorDash campaign tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Sitting at home with tournament tickets nearby, he told the camera, “You’re probably wondering why I’m watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home. It’s a long story.” Text on the screen added, “It’s complicated. More soon.”
Tony Believes the Family Will Eventually Speak Again
Tony’s belief in reconciliation is informed by his own experience. He has said that he did not speak to his father for 30 years and later recognized that some of his anger had been connected to struggles in his own life.
“It was a deflection of my own stuff onto him, and it was far easier for me to hate on him because I was hating on myself,” he said while discussing the estrangement.
“Do I think they’ll talk again? Of course, they will at some point,” he said on This Morning. “They are family. But the noise needs to die down, people need to step back from it.”
