Drew Barrymore admitted there was mold inside her family minivan during the November 5 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. The disclosure came as she, Ross Mathews and Valerie Bertinelli compared photographs of their cars, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The conversation began with Kylie Kelce’s minivan-cleaning video. When a photograph appeared on the studio screen, Barrymore initially seemed to think it belonged to Kelce before recognizing her own vehicle. “Oh, that’s mine,” she said.
The picture showed a piñata perched among belongings in the back and several pairs of sunglasses scattered on the floor. Mathews had been a passenger and could describe something the photographs didn’t reveal.
Barrymore shares daughters Olive and Frankie with former husband Will Kopelman. In a November 2025 clip covered by PEOPLE, she described their minivan outings as opportunities to buy gas-station snacks, listen to music and introduce one another to favorite songs.

Mathews recalled discovering a chicken nugget pressed into the flooring during a ride with Barrymore. It looked as though it had been there for some time, he said. When he asked whether the food belonged to her or her children, Barrymore confirmed it was theirs.
Bertinelli checked that he really meant a chicken nugget, and Mathews assured her that he did. Her next concern was the smell. She joked about how briefly Barrymore’s vehicle must have retained its new-car scent, compared with her own efforts to preserve it for months.
“I have the little Christmas tree!” Barrymore replied, referring to her air freshener. Mathews stressed that he wasn’t trying to embarrass his friend. “It looks lived in. It looks loved,” he said of the family vehicle.
The photographs of his and Bertinelli’s cars showed considerably less clutter. Mathews pointed out that he has a Chihuahua rather than children, while Bertinelli described keeping a bed and leash for her dog Luna, treats and a cat-themed umbrella. Barrymore ended the conversation by thanking Kelce for reassuring other mothers with messy vehicles.

Kelce shared her cleanup through the Instagram account for her Not Gonna Lie podcast in September. She and husband Jason Kelce have four daughters, and the family’s Toyota Sienna had accumulated toys, trash and forgotten food. The post’s caption disclosed a Toyota partnership with the hashtag #ToyotaPartner.
While working through the front of the vehicle, Kelce discovered a plastic bag containing pancakes that had been there for a week, as PEOPLE reported. She held up the bag and acknowledged that the abandoned breakfast was her limit.
Other finds included a capybara toy and pre-wrap. Kelce then worked through the rest of the interior, removing the trash, vacuuming and wiping away stains. By the end of the video, she was showing off the cleaned seats and floor.
Kelce Pushed Back When a Commenter Criticized the Mess
On the September 24 episode of her podcast, Kelce responded to a commenter who suggested having the children carry their trash inside after every trip, according to PEOPLE’s subsequent coverage. She pointed to how many snacks they eat on even a short drive and rejected the suggestion that preventing the buildup was easy.
Kelce also welcomed the replies from people who felt reassured by her video rather than appalled by it. As for the demand that she never let the car reach that state again, she answered: “Sometimes things get away from you. Stop acting all high and mighty.”
