Dua Lipa did not spend her cousin’s wedding quietly watching from the edge of the dance floor. By the end of the celebration in Kosovo, she and her father, Dukagjin Lipa, were dancing in the middle of a circle with drinking glasses balanced on their heads.

The singer shared moments from the weekend after her cousin And Gjakova married Rozafa Kelmendi. PEOPLE described Dua and Dukagjin performing a traditional Albanian valle as wedding guests clapped around them, with both keeping their glasses upright while moving in circles with their arms raised.

Dua summed up the celebration herself as a “big Albanian wedding” and welcomed the newest member of the family.

Her carousel also showed a quieter side of the weekend, including photographs with her mother Anesa, sister Rina and brother Gjin, as well as the newlyweds cutting their tiered wedding cake.

Dua changed into a backless black dress for the reception before joining her father on the dance floor. Earlier photographs showed her in a gold crochet-style top with black trousers while posing with members of her family before she changed for the dance floor. BalkanWeb identified the crochet piece as a Lou de Bètoly design and described its mix of metallic details and colorful embellishments.

BalkanWeb noted the celebration as And Gjakova’s wedding to Rozafa Kelmendi in Pristina and noted that Dukagjin later joked beneath his daughter’s post, “I’m still dancing.” The outlet also documented the wider family gathering, including Anesa and Rina appearing with Dua throughout the weekend.

PEOPLE noted that she has previously shared vacation footage of herself dancing with a glass on her head, although this time the party trick became part of a family wedding and a traditional dance with her father.

The Wedding Brought the Lipa Family Together in Kosovo

Dua’s own carousel moved well beyond the dance-floor clip. She posed with her parents and siblings, shared photographs from around the reception and included the newlyweds during their cake-cutting, giving the post more of a family-album feel than a polished celebrity-event recap.

The celebration also returned Dua to a place that has remained central to her family story. She was born in London to Kosovo Albanian parents and moved with her family to Pristina in 2008 before returning to London as a teenager to pursue music. PEOPLE has previously noted that Albanian was the language of her home life and that much of her extended family remained in Kosovo. PEOPLE

That connection has continued well into her music career. The family’s Sunny Hill Festival is based in Pristina, where it has grown into one of Southeast Europe’s major music events and regularly brings international performers to Kosovo.

The Family Wedding Came Months After Dua’s Own

The celebration arrived only a few months after Dua became a bride herself. She and Callum Turner married in a private civil ceremony at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall on May 31 before continuing the celebration with a multi-day wedding in Palermo, Sicily. Vogue documented the London ceremony, while its subsequent wedding coverage followed the couple to Sicily.
