Leven Rambin says she has not quit acting after describing herself as a “sad failed actor” in a series of candid TikToks.
The 36-year-old played Glimmer in the 2012 film The Hunger Games. Her credits also include Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, True Detective and Grey’s Anatomy.
Rambin began working on All My Children as a teenager, later appearing in films including Chasing Mavericks and The Forever Purge.
One follower challenged her assessment, saying aspiring performers would envy her résumé, according to Page Six.
Rambin Describes Grief Over the Dream She Grew Up Chasing

In her October 13 video, Rambin described a “profound sadness” about the possibility that she had outgrown her childhood ambition, or that it had simply failed to develop as she expected.
Letting go felt frightening, she said, but repeatedly feeling overlooked, unwanted and uncertain about her future had become painful.
In another October 15 TikTok, she compared Hollywood to an unhealthy relationship while affirming her love of performing, according to E! News.
Her Clarification Comes With a Joke About Next Week

A separate TikTok addressed viewers who had interpreted her comments as a retirement announcement. Rambin explained that she had been joking about herself while expressing real frustration.
“At least not today. Ask me again next week,” she added in a statement to Just Jared.
A SAG-AFTRA Call Followed Her Complaints About Auditions
Rambin had recently declined an audition after growing tired of spending hours learning dialogue, arranging recording equipment and assembling self-tapes, often without receiving feedback. She described that frustration in an October 16 interview with Los Angeles Magazine.
Other performers responded with accounts of similarly demanding requests. Actress Eiza González also expressed agreement in the comments, while some actors discussed finding work outside the industry.
Rambin remembered auditions that gave her a chance to meet casting directors and develop relationships. Recording at home could instead mean repeating takes because of background noise or her own desire to get a scene exactly right.
Within two days of her public complaints, she said, a senior SAG-AFTRA representative contacted her. Rambin described a productive conversation in which she raised questions that followers had shared with her.
She Left Los Angeles and Made Room for Family Plans
After living in Los Angeles intermittently for about 16 years, Rambin moved to a ranch outside Austin, Texas, where she keeps donkeys and a horse. She told Los Angeles Magazine that the distance helped her think more clearly about what she wanted.
Her October 12 TikTok offered a lighter look at that life: while walking her white pony, she joked that she had no audition or acting offer lined up, but at least she had the pony.
In July, she explained that she had left Fire Country to focus on starting a family. As PEOPLE reported, the production schedule conflicted with her plans, and she wanted to address health concerns without postponing them another year.
Rambin said the departure was amicable and left open the possibility of returning for an appearance.
Actors Anonymous Began With a Free Meeting for Fellow Performers
On October 14, Rambin posted an Instagram invitation asking actors to gather online and discuss their frustrations. The free Actors Anonymous Zoom session reached its 100-person RSVP limit, according to Los Angeles Magazine.
After the meeting, Rambin told the magazine that performers from different backgrounds had shared laughter, tears, discouragement and hope.
The gathering also left her considering whether a full-time job outside acting might offer another source of satisfaction. She questioned whether she had invested too much of herself in a single profession.
Afterward, Rambin created an Instagram account for Actors Anonymous so performers could continue connecting beyond the initial meeting.
