One-half of the Island Boys is starting the New Year in serious legal trouble. Franky Venegas, better known as Kodiyakredd from the viral TikTok rap duo, was arrested on New Year’s Eve in Naples, Florida. Instead of counting down to midnight at a club, the 24-year-old was booked into the Collier County Jail on drug charges.

The arrest marks yet another chapter in the influencer’s growing rap sheet. Venegas was taken into custody late Wednesday night after authorities allegedly discovered drug paraphernalia in his possession. He remains in custody without bond as of Saturday morning due to a violation of his release conditions in a previous felony case.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, the arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on December 31. Deputies searched Venegas and allegedly found a credit card with suspicious white powder residue.

Field tests reportedly confirmed the substance was fentanyl. It is a potent synthetic opioid. This discovery led to a charge of possession of narcotic paraphernalia. While a paraphernalia charge is typically a misdemeanor, the implications for Venegas are severe because he was already out on bond.

The “I’m an Island Boy” rapper is currently on a 24-hour hold. This is standard procedure when a suspect is arrested while awaiting trial for other crimes. This means he could not simply pay bail to walk free on New Year’s Day.

This is not the first time Venegas has faced a judge in Collier County. He is still dealing with the fallout from a serious arrest in February 2025.

In that incident, deputies pulled over a yellow Corvette in which Venegas was a passenger. A search of the vehicle uncovered a Glock handgun with an altered serial number and a bag of oxycodone pills. Venegas was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

He has been out on bond for those felonies for nearly a year. The new arrest could lead prosecutors to revoke his bond entirely. This would force him to await trial from inside a jail cell.

His legal troubles extend beyond Naples. In May 2024, he was arrested in Fort Lauderdale for reckless driving and providing a false ID. In May 2023, he faced domestic battery charges in Pompano Beach after an alleged altercation with a girlfriend. Those charges were later dropped.

The other half of the duo is Alex Venegas (known as Flyysoulja). He was not involved in the New Year’s Eve incident. The brothers rose to internet infamy in 2021 with their freestyle video in a swimming pool. They have since tried to pivot to a legitimate music career and reality TV fame.

However, Franky’s repeated run-ins with the law have overshadowed their recent efforts. Fans on social media were quick to react to the news. Many commented that the “Island Boy” story seems to be taking a tragic turn.

Venegas is expected to face a judge early next week to determine his bond status. Until then, the Island Boy is officially an inmate.
