Jason Segel and Kayla Radomski married on October 17, returning to the California botanical gardens where he had surprised her with a proposal the previous year.

The How I Met Your Mother actor, 46, and the dancer and actress, 35, exchanged vows at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino, near Pasadena.

A wedding invitation shared by a guest called for a coat-and-tie dress code, with dinner and dancing planned for the celebration.

PEOPLE confirmed the marriage on October 19, after Radomski began sharing photographs on Instagram on October 18. “Yesterday was an absolute DREAM,” she wrote of the wedding.

Radomski Shares a Floral Wedding Gown and Her Bridal Veil

One of Radomski’s photographs captured a quiet moment before the ceremony. She sat beside a window in a white slip dress, with a long, lace-edged veil draped over her shoulders.

Pictures shared by guests showed her wedding gown, a white dress decorated with pink flowers and finished with a train. Segel wore a dark suit. In one photograph, the newlyweds stood facing each other with their arms wrapped around one another.

Radomski promised more photographs and signed her message “Mrs. Segel.” She also reposted a guest’s account of crying throughout the celebration, adding that she was still crying herself.

Radomski announced their engagement on June 18, 2025, with five photographs of Segel on one knee, her reaction to the ring and the couple kissing among the flowers. Her caption read, “FOREVER YES.”

Segel explained how he arranged the surprise during an April 6 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The gardens had been the setting for an early date, but he needed an excuse to bring Radomski back without giving away his plans.

First, he told her that filming Shrinking meant an engagement would have to wait. Then he invented a donor dinner, embellishing the story with supposed appearances by the mayor and the Los Angeles Times. Staff at the gardens helped maintain the ruse when the couple arrived.

Radomski saw rose petals arranged in front of a statue and assumed the display belonged to another couple. Segel asked her to close her eyes and make a wish, then knelt with a ring he had designed himself.

When a string quartet began playing music from her favorite film, Beauty and the Beast, she burst into tears. A photographer hidden nearby captured the moment.

Their First Red Carpet Appearance Came at the Golden Globes

The couple first attracted attention in October 2023, when they were photographed holding hands at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights.

They made their red carpet debut together at the January 2024 Golden Globes, where Segel was nominated for playing therapist Jimmy Laird in Shrinking. Radomski wore a shimmering silver gown, while Segel chose a three-piece tuxedo.

They attended the Emmy Awards later that month, and Radomski shared messages praising his dedication to his work. In September 2026, she again accompanied him to the Emmys.

Radomski’s own television career began well before their relationship. She finished fourth on Season 5 of So You Think You Can Dance in 2009 and subsequently worked as a professional dancer and actress. Her screen credits include Teen Beach 2 and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

Several weeks before the wedding, Radomski gathered with friends in Ojai, California, for her bachelorette celebration, Entertainment Weekly reported.

A recap reel was shared jointly by Radomski and Kristin McQuaid. McQuaid wrote the accompanying tribute, describing a weekend with the bride’s bridesmaids, maid of honor, mother and grandmother. She recalled years of friendship and expressed her excitement about the couple’s future.

The celebrations had begun months earlier with a January engagement party at Cannonball restaurant in South Pasadena. Segel raised a glass and told their guests how much he was looking forward to marrying Radomski. She thanked the friends and relatives who had helped shape their lives.

By a June 6 interview with PEOPLE at an event promoting Shrinking, Segel said wedding preparations were going well and called Radomski “the best person in the world.” Asked whether he wanted children, he said yes, joking that he might have a “moody, creative, puppet-y kid.”
