Jelly Roll is being candid about a recent setback in his weight-loss journey while his divorce from Bunnie Xo continues.
E! News reported that the country singer discussed overeating in a July 10 YouTube video. Just Jared reported that Jelly Roll described the moment as stress eating and said “the addict in me came out.”
Jelly Roll described it as a reminder that old patterns can return quickly, especially when stress and familiar triggers collide.
Jelly Roll Said One Trigger Led to Several Days of Overeating

The singer said he had been overeating for three or four days when he opened up during the video. He explained that the spiral began after he encountered a dairy-free skillet cookie at a venue where he already loved the catering.
Jelly Roll said one food choice quickly turned into more. He described later going to a taco truck, then looking for a chocolate bar at a rest stop, before realizing he had consumed thousands of extra calories without fully seeing it coming.
“I’ve been overeating the last three or four days and I was feeling myself stress eating,” he said, according to Us Weekly.
Jelly Roll has spoken openly about losing more than 275 pounds and changing his health through exercise, diet changes and daily discipline. Us Weekly reported that he has been steadily losing weight since 2022 and has said he once weighed more than 500 pounds.
He Compared the Pattern to Addiction
Jelly Roll said he cannot always approach certain foods as a simple “cheat meal” because one bite can become a longer binge for him.
Us Weekly reported that he compared the pattern to his past relationship with alcohol and drugs, explaining that moderation has often been difficult for him.
He also said the issue goes deeper than discipline alone. Just Jared reported that he told the fan people do not reach his former size without a mental-health issue, adding that understanding triggers changes everything.
The Comment Comes During a Public Divorce

People reported in June that he filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo in Williamson County, Tennessee, on May 18 after nearly a decade of marriage, with a listed separation date of May 9.
They married in Las Vegas in 2016, renewed their vows in 2023 and appeared together at major music events earlier this year. The filing lists irreconcilable differences as the grounds for the split.
