Jodie Sweetin has an encouraging update on Dave Coulier after two cancer diagnoses and months of difficult treatment.

The actress spoke about her longtime Full House costar at the Scleroderma Research Foundation’s Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine fundraiser on October 13.

“He’s doing great,” she told PEOPLE at the Beverly Hills event.

Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner opposite Coulier’s Joey Gladstone, attended alongside fellow cast members Candace Cameron Bure and Lori Loughlin.

Sweetin and Andrea Barber Spent a Weekend at His Home

Sweetin and Barber recently stayed with Coulier in Michigan, where the three took part in The Coney, a fundraiser supporting arts programs in Detroit. “Sitting around and having coffee with him in the morning meant so much,” she said.

Sweetin described the cast as “obnoxiously annoyingly close” and said they still consider themselves family.

The actors also kept in touch during his lymphoma treatment. In comments reported by Good Morning America in April 2025, Coulier described funny group texts and FaceTime calls from Bure and Loughlin, with John Stamos calling almost daily.

Coulier Announced Remission From Both Cancers in February

Coulier was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in October 2024 and made the news public the following month. He underwent chemotherapy, and his representative confirmed that he was cancer-free in April 2025.

A later PET scan during follow-up care revealed something suspicious in his throat. Doctors used robotic surgery to obtain a biopsy, he later explained. The tests confirmed another cancer, which Coulier said doctors told him was unrelated to the lymphoma.

He publicly disclosed the second diagnosis in December 2025, identifying it as p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue. His treatment involved 35 radiation sessions, with the final session on December 31. On February 4, Coulier appeared on Good Morning America and announced, “I’m in remission with both cancers.”

During that interview, he credited his wife, Melissa, and friends with helping him through treatment. He recalled Stamos visiting him in Michigan and making him laugh by wearing a bald cap.

In a May 7 Instagram update, Coulier addressed fans who had noticed changes in his appearance and voice. He said extensive radiation had left him unable to eat solid food for months and that he had lost 45 pounds.

Treatment had also affected his speech, explaining why he sounded different. Coulier said recent PET scans indicated that the prognosis for both cancers looked good. He had been spending time on artwork, creative writing and developing his wellness business, AwearMarket.

He Sent John Stamos a Message From His Tractor

Coulier did not attend the October 13 fundraiser, but he contributed a prerecorded video congratulating Stamos on receiving the Bob Saget Legacy Award.

As Entertainment Weekly reported, he opened with a joke about being unable to join the gathering because he was sitting on a tractor in Michigan. He finished with a Stamos impression and encouraged guests to raise money.

Introduced in 2023, the award recognizes efforts to increase awareness and funding for scleroderma research. Saget championed the cause after his sister Gay died from the autoimmune disease in 1994.

In the meantime, Coulier is scheduled to attend 90s Con, which runs October 16 to 18 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The organizer’s guest list schedules Coulier, Sweetin, Barber, Stamos, Loughlin, Cameron Bure and Scott Weinger for Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18.
