Nellie’s Southern Kitchen has served its final meal at MGM Grand.
The Southern comfort food restaurant tied to the Jonas family closed its Las Vegas location after service on May 25, 2026, ending a Strip run that began in June 2022.
The closure ends the Vegas chapter for a restaurant built around family recipes, live music, and the memory of the Jonas Brothers’ great-grandmother. According to People, Nellie’s Southern Kitchen was co-owned by Denise Jonas and Kevin Jonas Sr., the parents of Kevin, Joe, Nick, and Frankie Jonas.
The Las Vegas Location Closed After Service on May 25
The shutdown was announced before the final service. Fox 5 Vegas reported that casino officials said Nellie’s Southern Kitchen at MGM Grand would close permanently after service on Monday, May 25.
MGM Grand said there were no immediate plans for the restaurant space. Future venue details are expected later once confirmed.
The closure was not framed as a sudden scandal or emergency. A spokesperson for the restaurant told People that the lease was approaching expiration and that the team made a strategic decision about where to focus its long-term efforts.
The Restaurant Was Inspired by the Jonas Family’s Great-Grandmother
Nellie’s Southern Kitchen was named after Kevin Jonas Sr.’s grandmother, Nellie. The restaurant leaned heavily into that family story, with Southern recipes passed down through generations.
People reported that the menu included dishes such as Chicken N’ Dumplin’s and fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and collard greens.
The Las Vegas location opened in the District by the MGM Grand Garden Arena on June 4, 2022. The Jonas Brothers were performing residency shows in Las Vegas at the time, and the family joined the opening celebration, giving the restaurant an immediate connection to both fans and the Strip’s entertainment scene.
The Belmont Location Remains Open

The closure only affects the Las Vegas location. The original Nellie’s Southern Kitchen in Belmont, North Carolina, remains open.
That detail matters because Nellie’s did not begin as a Las Vegas celebrity restaurant. The Belmont location opened in 2016 in Kevin Sr.’s hometown, and the family is now pointing guests back to the founding restaurant as it marks a decade of Southern food and hospitality.
The MGM Grand Version Mixed Food, Fans, and Jonas Memorabilia
The Las Vegas outpost was designed to feel like more than a standard resort restaurant. The MGM Grand page described Nellie’s as a Jonas family restaurant with memorabilia, an autographed guitar, and fan-facing details tied to the brothers.
That made the restaurant especially recognizable for Jonas Brothers fans visiting the Strip, but after May 25, the only Nellie’s Southern Kitchen still operating is the original Belmont, North Carolina, location.
