Kaley Cuoco’s daughter Matilda is getting some cuddle time with her new baby sister. The actress shared a photograph of the 3-year-old nestled beside newborn Philomena, with the girls together on a couch.

Cuoco posted the update on Monday, October 19, as Philomena reached her one-week milestone. “One week old over here,” she wrote, according to PEOPLE.

Another photograph showed the 40-year-old Big Bang Theory star at home holding Philomena, who wore a pink onesie and tiny socks.

Cuoco and her fiancé, actor Tom Pelphrey, welcomed their second daughter on October 12. They announced her arrival two days later with hospital photographs of the parents and their newborn.

In the Instagram Story, Matilda smiles toward the camera in a colorful dress, with Philomena wrapped in a pale blanket beside her. An adult’s arm supports the newborn. Cuoco added the word “SISTERS” in white lettering across the bottom of the photograph, surrounded by a lightly drawn heart.

Pelphrey’s recent Instagram carousel included a selfie with Cuoco and both daughters, along with another photograph of Matilda feeding Philomena. The collection also featured pumpkin-patch pictures. “Young queens, grandma, and pumpkins…. 🎃,” he wrote in the caption.

The baby’s full name is Philomena Carmine Bobby Pelphrey, although her parents are already calling her Philo. In the birth announcement covered by Entertainment Weekly, Cuoco declared their family complete and affectionately referred to the newborn as Matilda’s baby.

She thanked Pelphrey for the life they had built together, calling him a “girl daddy.” He posted his own welcome for their youngest daughter and praised Cuoco for her strength as a mother and partner.

Matilda and Her Parents Made Room for the New Baby

In an August interview with Extra‘s Terri Seymour at HBO Max’s Emmy Nominee Celebration, Pelphrey said his older daughter had volunteered her own explanation for a crying newborn: the baby needed food, and she intended to help.

She had also given up her playroom for her sister. Pelphrey described her as happy to make the change, while acknowledging that her feelings could shift once the baby actually arrived.

By September, he and Cuoco were moving things around at home and discovering which preparations felt unfamiliar and which seemed easier with experience.

Speaking backstage at the Emmys to E! News, Pelphrey said the couple had a possible name in mind but were willing to reconsider after meeting their daughter. “We always leave open the possibility that she’ll sort of declare herself,” he explained.

Pelphrey Planned Time at Home With His Daughters

Before Matilda was born, the couple agreed that their acting jobs should not upend her life, Pelphrey told Seymour in the August interview. They chose work carefully, tried to coordinate their schedules and relied on trusted people who helped care for their daughter.

His September Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, for HBO’s Task, came with a public thank-you to Cuoco. During his acceptance speech, he also sent his love to Matilda and the daughter they were expecting. Asked afterward whether Matilda had watched, he doubted she had caught the broadcast, suggesting she was probably busy playing outside. He intended to show her the speech later.

In a separate backstage interview with Seymour, Pelphrey said he intended to stay home with his family “until something calls that makes me absolutely have to leave my house.”
