Kelly Clarkson turned an unexpected wardrobe moment into a joke after a gust of wind lifted her top during her Las Vegas residency.

The singer was talking to the audience during her August 8 Studio Sessions performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace when her sheer cropped button-down blew upward, revealing the black lace bra she was wearing underneath.

“Uh oh, there’s my boobs,” Clarkson said as she quickly pulled the shirt back down. She then reassured the crowd that there was little danger of anything else being exposed.

The moment came near the end of Clarkson’s current Las Vegas run, with only two additional performances scheduled before the residency concludes on August 15.

Clarkson was in the middle of chatting with the audience when the gust interrupted her. “There’s a lot of amazing things happening,” she said before noticing her shirt. “Uh oh, there’s my boobs.”

According to People, Clarkson wore the sheer black top over a black lace bra and paired it with black satin pants. “They’re too small, they won’t come out. You’re fine,” she joked after pulling the shirt back into place.

She then corrected herself almost immediately. “They’re not going anywhere,” Clarkson said. “They’re perfect.”

She Quickly Took Back Her Self-Deprecating Joke

Clarkson connected the sudden change in tone to messages she had received about August 8 and the so-called Lion’s Gate Portal, an astrological belief associated with the date.

She said people had been warning her not to speak negatively about herself while trying to put positive energy into the world. “Just kidding, universe, my boobs are awesome,” she said.

Us Weekly reported that Clarkson continued riffing on the subject, telling the crowd that friends had also warned her against gossiping or speaking negatively about other people. “It’s in my head, so as soon as I (shared) self-deprecation, I was like, ‘Just kidding!’” she explained.

Clarkson Has Made Crowd Conversations Part of ‘Studio Sessions’

The wardrobe moment unfolded during one of the extended conversations Clarkson regularly has with fans between songs during the residency. Later in the August 8 show, she spoke about being surrounded by talented people and joked that she had reached an age where she maintained a “no a–holes allowed policy.”

She immediately caught herself again because of the earlier conversation about avoiding negative statements. “They’re just on a different path than I am,” she joked instead.

Clarkson then spoke more seriously about difficult relationships, therapy and learning to recognize her own worth. The conversational format has remained a prominent part of Studio Sessions, alongside performances with Clarkson’s band and material drawn from across her career.
