Lana Del Rey was not at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Instead, social media posts showed Del Rey spending the holiday weekend in Louisiana with her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, her sister, Caroline “Chuck” Grant, and YouTuber Oli Abbas. Abbas shared birthday photos that included Del Rey seated beside him, and Del Rey replied in the comments that it had been the “best weekend ever.”
The absence renewed online speculation about Del Rey’s friendship with Swift, especially after reports that she had unfollowed the singer on Instagram. Neither woman has announced a dispute, and Del Rey has not publicly said whether she received or declined a wedding invitation.
Del Rey’s recent public comments about Swift do not point to an open feud. In a BBC News interview, she praised Swift’s drive and said the singer had repeatedly told her she wanted success “more than anyone.”

InStyle reported that Del Rey and her sister attended a small birthday gathering for Abbas while Swift and Kelce’s wedding events were unfolding in New York.
Del Rey responded to Abbas’ post by thanking the group for spending the Fourth of July with her and Dufrene. “Ahh we love you so much, best weekend ever,” she wrote, according to InStyle.
She also shared footage of Dufrene preparing for the Louisiana gathering. The posts show where Del Rey spent the holiday weekend, but they do not confirm whether she declined an invitation, was never invited or simply had other plans.
The Absence Revived Feud Rumors
A Daily Mail report tied Del Rey’s absence to renewed fan speculation about her relationship with Swift. The same speculation was picked up by other outlets after fans revisited claims that Del Rey had unfollowed Swift on Instagram.
The unfollow claim has not been followed by a public statement from either singer. Swift has not addressed Del Rey’s absence, and Del Rey has not said that there is a dispute between them.
Del Rey Recently Praised Swift’s Ambition
Del Rey’s recent comments about Swift cut against the idea of a confirmed public feud. In June, she praised Swift while speaking to BBC News about the singer’s success.
“She wants it,” Del Rey said, according to People. “She’s told me so many times that she wants it more than anyone. And how amazing — she’s getting exactly what she wants.”
Del Rey added that Swift was driven and said that drive had paid off.
Swift and Del Rey Have a Long Public History
Swift and Del Rey first met at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2012, according to InStyle. Their public association continued through award shows, music and major events over the next decade.
Del Rey appeared on “Snow on the Beach,” released on Swift’s 2022 album Midnights. Swift later released a “More Lana Del Rey” version after listeners asked to hear more of Del Rey’s vocals.
The two were photographed together at the 2024 Grammy Awards and at the Super Bowl that same year. Del Rey was also among the guests at Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s 2023 wedding, which Swift attended as well.
Swift and Kelce Married at Madison Square Garden
Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on July 3. Reuters reported that Swift’s publicist confirmed the wedding and that Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.
Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her man of honor, while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, served as best man. ABC7 New York reported that they were the only members of the wedding party.
The event included more than 1,000 guests, according to ABC7 New York, and drew days of attention around the arena. Del Rey’s absence became one more detail for fans tracking the guest list, but neither she nor Swift has publicly turned it into a feud.
