Lauren Sánchez Bezos Is ‘Everywhere’ at Paris Fashion Week — But Not for the Right Reasons

Lauren Sánchez Bezos was supposed to be having a triumphant Paris Fashion Week. The Associated Press even declared she was “everywhere in Paris.” She was — just not for the reasons she’d hoped.

Paris Fashion Week Access

On Monday morning, she was seated front row at Schiaparelli in a red skirt suit, near her husband Jeff Bezos and Anna Wintour. According to Grazia, Wintour was overheard introducing her to Andrew Bolton, head curator of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute — the man who oversees the Met Gala. By that afternoon, she’d changed into Dior and was at the Musée Rodin alongside French first lady Brigitte Macron, waiting for Rihanna to arrive.

The access was undeniable. The positioning was strategic. The message was clear: Lauren Sánchez Bezos is no longer just a billionaire’s wife attending fashion shows — she’s being ushered into the inner circle.

But “everywhere” cuts both ways.

The Restaurant Stumble

That same evening, video surfaced of Sánchez Bezos tripping as she entered a restaurant for a post-Dior dinner with her husband. Her heel caught on the entrance ledge while she was looking back at photographers. She recovered quickly — but the internet had already noticed.

The stumble might have been forgotten if it weren’t for what else people were talking about.

The Plastic Surgery Backlash

Photos from the Dior show had gone viral on X, but not in the way she’d want. Users roasted both her outfit and her appearance. Some compared her look to a “mob wife,” while others were less generous: “Looks like SHEIN,” “She is wearing Amazon essential,” and “Money can’t buy style or taste.” Comments about her face were harsher still — ranging from “her plastic surgeon should be imprisoned” to comparisons to a “Temu Kardashian.”

The criticism isn’t new. For months, her appearance has been a subject of public speculation, with plastic surgeons weighing in on what procedures she may have had. Dr. Frederick Weniger told The List that when lips don’t fully close at rest, it can indicate “over-volumization or poor volumization with filler.”

The Bigger Picture

Grazia framed the couple’s Paris trip as more than a fashion outing — calling it “a board meeting for their latest enterprise: building legacy, influence, and cultural capital.” The Bezoses were recently announced as primary donors for the 2026 Met Gala, and this week’s appearances seemed designed to cement her status ahead of fashion’s biggest night.

If that’s the plan, it’s off to a rocky start.

Sources told Reality Tea that designers are “begging to dress her” because “when Lauren shows up, the fashion world sees dollar signs.” But access and acceptance aren’t the same thing.

You can fund the Met Gala and still get roasted online the moment you step out of a car. You can be “everywhere” at Paris Fashion Week and still be there for all the wrong reasons.

Lauren Sánchez Bezos is learning that money can buy a front row seat.

Whether it can buy fashion credibility is another question entirely.
