Lionel Richie is reassuring fans after a health scare forced him to cut a concert short and postpone two tour dates.
The 77-year-old singer shared an update after returning to the stage with Earth, Wind & Fire.
Page Six reported that Richie told fans on Instagram he is “doing well” after the dizzy spell that worried concertgoers last week.
The update came after Richie resumed his Sing A Song All Night Long tour in Pittsburgh and Detroit, days after ending his June 24 show in St. Paul, Minnesota, early.

Richie wrote that he was grateful for every message, kind word and expression of love he received after the incident. He also said his Pittsburgh and Detroit shows had been joyful, with strong energy from the crowds.
“Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love,” Richie wrote, according to PEOPLE. “I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.”
He ended the message by looking ahead to Toronto, telling fans, “let’s party all night long.”
The Scare Happened During His Minnesota Show
Richie’s health scare happened on June 24 during the opening night of his tour at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul. He was performing “Dancing on the Ceiling” when he began feeling dizzy and sat down onstage.
PEOPLE reported that Richie joked with the crowd about sitting down when feeling dizzy, but the show was later cut short. His saxophonist, Dino Soldo, eventually told the audience that Richie was not feeling well and would not be able to continue.
TMZ reported that paramedics met Richie after he left the stage and that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to PEOPLE.
Two Shows Were Postponed
After the Minnesota incident, Richie postponed his next two shows in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio, under doctors’ advice to rest and return to full health.
The Sun reported that the Chicago show, originally scheduled for June 26, was moved to September 30. The Columbus show, originally scheduled for June 27, was rescheduled for October 2.
The Sun also reported that Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris told the Minnesota Star Tribune that Richie had been “a little dehydrated.”
The Tour Is Continuing
Richie is touring with Earth, Wind & Fire on the Sing A Song All Night Long tour. PEOPLE reported that he returned to the stage in Pittsburgh on June 30 and later performed in Detroit and Toronto.
In Pittsburgh, he joked with the crowd and admitted he had given fans a reason to worry. Entertainment Weekly reported that Richie told the audience, “I had you worried there for a minute, huh?” He also joked that sitting down during “Dancing on the Ceiling” was a first for him.
The tour began its 2026 run in St. Paul and includes major North American stops before additional dates later in the year.
