Matty Healy and Gabbriette Bechtel are married after nearly three years together. The 1975 frontman and the model, musician and actress exchanged vows on Saturday, July 18, during a private outdoor ceremony in Los Angeles.
People reported that the wedding took place at Castillo del Lago, a Spanish Colonial Revival estate in the Hollywood Hills that Madonna previously owned.
The celebration brought together guests from the couple’s music and fashion circles, including Charli XCX and her husband, Healy’s longtime bandmate George Daniel.

Representatives told People that Healy and Gabbriette had married “at a private ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by their family and close friends.” Photographs showed the couple exchanging a kiss outdoors before Healy dipped his bride for another kiss.
They later posed together outside Castillo del Lago ahead of the reception. The 1920s estate is known for its hillside setting and views of the Hollywood Sign, Lake Hollywood and the surrounding city. Madonna purchased the mansion in the early 1990s and sold it several years later.
Gabbriette Wore a Dramatic Gown and Extra-Long Veil
Gabbriette wore a voluminous white gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, sculpted bodice and ruffled long sleeves. Its full skirt extended into an intricately embroidered train, while an extra-long veil was attached to her half-up hairstyle. Healy chose a traditional black tuxedo with a white shirt, black bow tie and floral corsage pinned to his lapel.
Vogue reported that guests were asked to interpret an Old Hollywood glamour dress code. Many added gothic details that reflected Gabbriette’s personal style, with black gowns, vintage silhouettes and crystal embellishments appearing throughout the arrivals.
Charli XCX and George Daniel Led the Guest List
Charli attended in a plunging black wrap gown with ruffles and a thigh-high slit. Daniel, The 1975’s drummer, coordinated with his wife in a monochromatic black suit.
Other guests included models Alex Consani and Quenlin Blackwell, sisters Devon Lee Carlson and Sydney Carlson, Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou and Fai Khadra. Devon attended with her fiancé, actor Duke Nicholson.
Charli and Daniel have connections to both newlyweds. Daniel has performed with Healy since their teenage years, while Charli assembled the band Nasty Cherry in 2019 and selected Gabbriette as its lead singer.
Gabbriette Announced Their Engagement at a Charli XCX Concert
Healy and Gabbriette were first publicly linked in September 2023 after they were photographed kissing in New York City. Friends had reportedly tried to introduce them for four years before they finally met in Los Angeles.
Gabbriette announced their engagement on June 11, 2024, after attending Charli’s Brat concert in Brooklyn. She posted photographs of her black diamond engagement ring and wrote, “MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT.”
Days before the wedding, Healy held his bachelor party in Malibu and hired The 9075, a tribute act devoted to his own band. He joined the group onstage to perform The 1975’s “The Sound,” wearing a ginger wig that referenced his appearance in the “Give Yourself a Try” music video.
