The Grammy-winning superstar and her husband, Spy Kids alum Daryl Sabara, stunned fans on Tuesday by announcing the secret arrival of their third child. In a tearful, joyous Instagram post, Trainor revealed that they welcomed a baby girl, Mikey Moon Trainor, on January 18, 2026, via a surrogate.
“Our baby girl, Mikey Moon Trainor, has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” Trainor captioned a gallery of hospital photos. The images featured the singer cradling her newborn in a beanie. “We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey, and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.” The arrival of Mikey Moon makes the Sabara Trainor household a party of five. She joins big brothers Riley, 4, and Barry, 2.
Why Surrogacy Was the “Safest Way”
While the announcement of a “secret baby” often feels like a celebrity trend, the decision to use a gestational carrier was rooted in serious medical history for Trainor.
The “Made You Look” singer has been candid about her traumatic birthing experiences. Her first son, Riley, was born breech via C-section in 2021 and had to be rushed to the NICU with breathing issues. It was a terrifying ordeal that Trainor later revealed gave her postpartum PTSD. Her second son, Barry, was also delivered by C-section in 2023.

“We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, and teams who made this dream possible,” the couple wrote in their joint statement.
The name Mikey Moon fits perfectly into the Trainor Sabara brand of vintage cool, but the story behind it is pure chaos courtesy of her two toddlers.
According to the announcement, the unique middle name was not the result of a branding meeting or a family heirloom. It was decided by the big brothers. “Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name,” Trainor shared.
