Mia Khalifa backed Spain with a seven-figure wager before the 2026 World Cup final and the team’s extra-time victory returned $1.65 million.
The media personality revealed the result in a July 20 Instagram carousel after attending Spain’s 1-0 win over Argentina at New York New Jersey Stadium.
One image showed Khalifa wearing a Spain shirt in the stands, while another displayed her betting ticket.
The ticket showed a $1 million stake on Spain to lift the trophy at decimal odds of 1.65. The headline payout included the money Khalifa originally risked, leaving approximately $650,000 in gross winnings rather than a $1.65 million profit.

Ferran Torres broke the deadlock in the 106th minute, securing Spain’s second men’s World Cup title and its first since 2010. The successful result turned Khalifa’s $1 million stake into a total return of $1.65 million. The betting slip, also examined by The Sun and the New York Post, listed the market as Spain lifting the trophy.
“Believed and won big,” she wrote in the caption. Khalifa also called Spain her “home country” before adding that she did not have “a drop of Spanish blood” in her.

Spain defeated France to reach the final, while defending champion Argentina advanced by beating England. Khalifa attended the championship match in a Spain jersey bearing Lamine Yamal’s name before Torres’ extra-time goal settled the tournament and her seven-figure wager.
