Myrtle Sarrosa’s ToyCon weekend turned into a stressful search after the actress and cosplayer said her phone was stolen during the pop-culture convention in Pasay City.
Sarrosa first offered ₱30,000 for the device’s return, saying she only wanted the phone back because it contained work files, videos, cosplay footage, gameplay recordings, business contacts, and years of personal memories.
The story took a stranger turn when Sarrosa said she tracked the phone across parts of Metro Manila while still dressed in cosplay. She later claimed the person holding the device no longer seemed satisfied with the original reward.
The phone had not been recovered as of the latest reports, but Sarrosa said she still hoped the person who had it would return it instead of trying to get more money.

ToyCon Nexus x PopLife Festival 2026 ran from June 12 to 14 at SMX Convention Center Manila, according to the event’s official site. Sarrosa said the phone disappeared on Saturday, June 13, while she was busy meeting fans and taking part in convention activities.
ABS-CBN reported that Sarrosa offered a ₱30,000 reward for the phone’s return. GMA News reported that she appealed to whoever had the device, saying she was not angry and only wanted it back because of the important files stored on it.
Sarrosa also addressed online speculation about the phone’s contents, saying she did not have indecent material stored there and would not compromise her faith, values, or principles.
She Followed The Phone’s Location In Full Cosplay
In a later update, Sarrosa said the phone’s location led her and her family from the Mall of Asia area to Ever Gotesco Commonwealth, according to GMA Entertainment.
She said she was still dressed as Chandra from One Piece while looking for the device. Sarrosa said a girl answered when they rang the phone, then quickly ended the call.
The location then moved through Commonwealth, Fairview, and Mindanao Avenue before appearing to return toward Ever Gotesco. Sarrosa said the search got close enough that she thought the phone might be recovered, but the device was turned off after they used the ring feature.
The Reward Demand Changed, Sarrosa Said
Sarrosa initially offered ₱30,000 for the return of the phone, with no anger and no questions asked. A day later, she said the situation had changed.
According to GMA Entertainment, Sarrosa claimed the person in possession of the phone no longer wanted the original reward and was asking for more. The Daily Tribune reported that Sarrosa said the situation no longer felt like a simple return of a missing phone.
Sarrosa said the phone mattered because it contained unreplaced files, work material, messages, and memories connected to her late grandmother. She also thanked ToyCon organizers, Mana staff, marshals, SMX security, and police officers who helped during the search.
She remained open to giving the original reward if the person holding the phone chose to return it.
