Natalie Portman has welcomed her third child, and her first baby with French music producer Tanguy Destable, according to new reporting from Paris.

A source told PEOPLE that the 45-year-old Oscar winner gave birth in Paris in August. The outlet said it had reached out to Portman’s representative for comment.

The news arrived alongside photographs of Portman and Destable walking together in Paris while he carried the newborn against his chest in a baby carrier. Neither Portman nor Destable has publicly announced the baby’s name or sex.

The new arrival joins Portman’s children Aleph, 15, and Amalia, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Benjamin Millepied. Destable also has two sons from his previous relationship with French actress Louise Bourgoin.

Portman and Destable Were Spotted With the Newborn in Paris

Portman and Destable have kept most of their relationship private, and the baby’s arrival has followed the same pattern. PEOPLE reported the August birth through a source rather than a public announcement from the couple.

Page Six subsequently published photographs of the pair walking in Paris with the newborn. Destable carried the baby in a front carrier while Portman walked beside him.

The photographs do not provide additional identifying information about the child. As of the latest reporting, Portman and Destable have not announced a name or shared a birth post through their verified social accounts.

Portman Called the Pregnancy a ‘Privilege and a Miracle’

Portman confirmed the pregnancy herself in an April interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “Tanguy and I are very excited,” she said. “I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

Her father is a fertility doctor, and Portman said she grew up hearing about how difficult becoming pregnant could be. That background left her particularly conscious of how fortunate she felt to be expecting another child.

The third pregnancy also felt different from her first two. Portman said she had a greater sense of calm, knew more clearly who she wanted around her and no longer felt the need to consume endless parenting books or social media advice. She also said she believed it would probably be her last pregnancy and wanted to cherish it.

Portman gave followers a rare look at the pregnancy on July 29. In a photograph taken by Shelby Duncan, she stood near a sunlit opening in a loose blue shirt and looked down while cradling her belly.

“Counting the days until we meet you,” she wrote in the caption. The photograph appeared only weeks before the reported August birth.

By then, Portman had already spent much of the pregnancy in Paris. She told Harper’s Bazaar that she was enjoying walks through the city’s parks, visiting art and spending time with Aleph and Amalia after finishing several film projects.

The Baby Joins a Blended Family of Five Children

PEOPLE confirmed Portman’s relationship with Destable in March 2025, about a year after her divorce from Millepied was finalized. Destable, who performs and produces electronic music under the name Tepr, had previously been in a long term relationship with French actress Louise Bourgoin.

Destable and Bourgoin share sons Étienne, 10, and Vadim, 6. Portman shares Aleph and Amalia with Millepied, whom she married in 2012 after meeting while making Black Swan.

Portman quietly filed for divorce from Millepied in July 2023, and the divorce was finalized in France in February 2024. She and Destable were publicly linked the following year and remained relatively private even after Portman confirmed they were expecting a child together.

Their baby was born in Paris in August, according to PEOPLE. For now, Portman and Destable are keeping the newest member of their family largely out of public view.
