Nicole Kidman’s increasingly public connection with businessman Michael Reinstein has sparked a fresh round of romance speculation after the two were photographed together in Italy and then reunited days later in Los Angeles.
Kidman, 59, and Reinstein, 54, were first pictured smiling and talking outside her hotel in Portofino before additional photographs showed them relaxing beside the pool at the Belmond Splendido with Aperol Spritzes. On July 30th, Reinstein was then seen picking Kidman up from Hollywood Burbank Airport in his black Ferrari after she returned from New York.
Reinstein, however, is far from an unknown figure in the business world. The Los Angeles investor founded Regent, a Beverly Hills investment group whose portfolio has included recognizable companies and brands across fashion, beauty, media, consumer goods and other industries.
His earlier business history also includes a 2004 Federal Trade Commission case in which he was one of two individual principals bound by a stipulated settlement.

The speculation began in Portofino in July, when Kidman was photographed outside her hotel with Reinstein. The pair smiled while talking on a terrace before Reinstein left, according to Page Six’s initial report. More photographs followed.
Page Six later photographed the pair beside the pool at the Belmond Splendido, where they relaxed on neighboring loungers with Aperol Spritzes. Reinstein was also photographed playfully lifting Kidman’s straw hat while the two talked.
On July 30th, Reinstein collected Kidman from Hollywood Burbank Airport after she flew back to Los Angeles from New York City. Photographs obtained by TMZ showed Kidman in the passenger seat of his black Ferrari. The repeated sightings have fueled dating reports, but neither person has publicly defined the relationship.

Reinstein is the founder and chairman of Regent, an investment group based in Beverly Hills. The scale of the portfolio is reflected in regulatory records. In October 2025, France’s Autorité de la concurrence approved Reinstein’s acquisition of exclusive control over French children’s clothing company Petit Bateau.
The competition authority said Reinstein controls Regent and identified DIM, Playtex and Wonderbra among other brands controlled by the group. Club Monaco is another prominent company linked to Regent.
Ralph Lauren Corporation announced the sale of Club Monaco to Regent in 2021. At the time, Reinstein said he believed the brand had a “long runway for growth” and that Regent planned to use its retail and e-commerce experience to develop the business. Regent’s investments over the years have also included names such as Escada, La Senza, Sunset magazine, Diamondback and media businesses including Sightline Media Group.
His Business Interests Now Extend to Avon
Reinstein’s connections to major consumer brands expanded further following Regent’s deal for Avon’s international operations. British corporate records now list Reinstein as an active person with significant control over Avon Cosmetics Limited.
Reinstein also has a legal background. The State Bar of California lists Michael Alan Reinstein as an active attorney. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1997 after attending Pepperdine University School of Law.
An Earlier Business Became the Subject of an FTC Case
Long before his current Regent portfolio, Reinstein was named in a federal consumer-protection case involving a group of companies collectively described by regulators as Promenade.
In August 2004, the Federal Trade Commission announced that it had authorized a complaint and consent decree against nine corporate defendants involved in discount buying, health, travel and other membership services. The services operated under names including Promenade Discount Buying and Travel Club, HealthSound and TravelDeals.
According to the FTC’s complaint, third-party telemarketers had marketed memberships costing between $96 and $249. The agency alleged that consumers were sometimes led to believe they were receiving free trials without adequate disclosure that they would begin being charged automatically unless they canceled.
Reinstein and Another Principal Were Bound by the Settlement
The FTC specifically identified Reinstein and Brian Kelly as the two individual principals bound by the stipulated order alongside the nine corporate defendants. The order barred the defendants from engaging in the practices alleged in the complaint and imposed requirements concerning informed consumer consent, membership renewals, refunds and monitoring of telemarketing activity.
It also provided for a $2.4 million payment. However, the fhe FTC said the remaining balance would be suspended based on the defendants’ ability to pay if $113,000 was paid within five days of entry of the judgment. The FTC described the stipulated final order as settling its charges.
Club Monaco Is Also Connected to a More Recent Civil Dispute
A separate commercial dispute involving Club Monaco surfaced in New York in 2026. Court records indexed by Trellis show a case titled PRL CMI, LLC et al. v. Club Monaco International, LLC et al., stemming from the business relationship that followed Ralph Lauren’s sale of Club Monaco.
A complaint filed in April names several Club Monaco-related entities along with Regent and Reinstein among the defendants. Ralph Lauren’s own 2026 financial disclosures continue to reflect payments connected to the earlier Club Monaco sale. The company reported receiving $2.1 million from Regent during fiscal 2026 as consideration associated with the former business, after receiving $2.8 million the previous year and $7 million in fiscal 2024.
Kidman Has Kept Her Dating Life Private Since Her Divorce
Kidman’s appearances with Reinstein come several months after the legal end of her marriage to Keith Urban. A Tennessee judge finalized their divorce on January 6th, 2026, after Kidman filed in September 2025 to end their marriage of nearly 20 years.
The former couple share daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Kidman has largely avoided publicly discussing dating since the split. In March, she told Variety that she was focused on “moving toward what’s good” and expressed gratitude for her family while declining to discuss other aspects of the divorce.
