Olivia Culpo is preparing to welcome her second child while working around Christian McCaffrey’s demanding NFL schedule.
The former Miss Universe said she plans to deliver by scheduled C-section after welcoming the couple’s daughter, Colette, by C-section in July 2025. She selected a day when the San Francisco 49ers running back has a lighter workload so he can attend the birth before returning to the team.
“Basically, it’s on an off day for him, so he’ll be able to come just for the birth,” Culpo said in a July 23 TikTok. “And then aside from that, he’ll have to go back.”
Culpo said she has been emotional about McCaffrey returning to football but is relying on relatives, friends and other support as she enters her third trimester.
Culpo Said a VBAC Was Not an Option in Her Case
Culpo discussed her birth plan while filming a get-ready-with-me video. “Plan is I’m having a C-section because I had a C-section in July last year, so having a VBAC wasn’t an option,” she said, referring to a vaginal birth after cesarean.
Culpo previously said the second pregnancy was not planned and came while she was still recovering from Colette’s birth. In May, she acknowledged that she did not feel “totally healed” but was grateful to be expecting another child.
McCaffrey Will Return to the 49ers After the Birth
Culpo scheduled the delivery for a day when McCaffrey has what she described as a “slightly easier” football schedule. His availability will allow him to be present for the birth, although she expects him to return to work soon afterward.
“It’s gonna be different than my first birth,” Culpo said. She also explained that an NFL season begins much earlier for players than the opening regular-season game.
“It starts at the end of July because that’s when they go to camp, and then just goes right into the season,” she said. The 49ers began their public training-camp schedule on July 26 at the team’s facility in Santa Clara, California.
She Is Relying on Her ‘Village’ After the Delivery
Culpo said she has been “so emotional lately” as McCaffrey returned to the team. The approaching delivery coincides with several other changes, including moving into a new house, launching a brand and caring for a 1-year-old daughter.
“Everything feels overwhelming,” she admitted. Culpo said she is grateful for her “village” and jokingly added that she also has a “large security detail team.”
The support system will be especially important during her recovery from surgery and the transition to caring for two children close in age.

Culpo and McCaffrey announced that they were expecting their second child on May 8, her 34th birthday. “Best birthday gift ❤️ Baby #2 coming soon,” they captioned a joint Instagram post. The photographs showed the couple having a picnic with Colette, their dog Oliver and a strip of ultrasound images.
Culpo previously said she did not plan to learn the baby’s sex unless McCaffrey strongly wanted to know. They welcomed Colette Annalise McCaffrey on July 10, 2025.
