Ray J was taken to a hospital by ambulance after a medical emergency unfolded in the middle of one of his livestreams, adding another hospital visit to a year in which the singer has repeatedly spoken about serious health problems.

The 45-year-old singer and television personality was broadcasting from Fab Factory on Thursday, October 1, when he began experiencing health issues. TMZ reported that firefighters and paramedics were called and that footage from the stream showed emergency personnel treating Ray J while medical equipment was attached to his chest.

Sources described the problem to TMZ as heart-related, but no specific diagnosis had been publicly announced. His mother, Sonja Norwood, was present during the stream, and Ray J was eventually transported from the location by ambulance.

The emergency comes after two other hospital stays in 2026 involving Ray J’s health, one in January when he was treated for severe pneumonia and heart pain, and another in May after he was knocked out during a celebrity fight and doctors evaluated a slowed heart rate and possible concussion.

The Emergency Interrupted His 180-Day ‘Rayhab’ Livestream Project

Thursday’s medical response happened while Ray J was participating in what he calls “Rayhab,” an ambitious streaming project designed to continue for 180 days. TMZ reported that he had been staying awake for extended stretches while broadcasting as part of the subathon.

Footage from the October 1 stream shows Ray J shirtless on a couch while paramedics work around him. His mother remained nearby as first responders assessed him before he was taken from Fab Factory. Billboard also reported the hospitalization while noting Ray J’s previously disclosed heart problems.

Ray J Made Alarming Claims About His Heart After a January Hospital Stay

Ray J’s first major hospitalization of the year came in January, when he was admitted to a Las Vegas hospital with severe pneumonia and heart pain. TMZ reported that doctors performed X-rays and an echocardiogram while treating him.

After leaving the hospital, Ray J began sharing much more alarming descriptions of his health. He told followers that his heart was “only beating like 25%” and later claimed doctors had warned him that his life could be significantly shortened.

The Los Angeles Times reported those remarks while noting that Ray J attributed his heart damage to years of heavy alcohol and drug use.

Ray J later said doctors had put him on multiple medications and instructed him to rest and avoid alcohol and smoking. By January 30, however, he was sounding more optimistic, with E! News reporting that he said he felt better following another medical appointment.

He Returned to the Hospital After His May Fight With Supa Hot Fire

Another hospital stay followed Ray J’s May 23 celebrity fight against YouTuber Supa Hot Fire at UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Ray J was knocked out in the second round and checked himself into a hospital roughly two hours later.

TMZ reported that doctors were examining whether he had suffered a concussion while also monitoring a slower-than-normal heartbeat. He remained hospitalized for several days as testing continued.

When Ray J was discharged, he told TMZ that he had experienced chest pain and an abrupt slowing of his heart rate after the fight.  E! News reported that Ray J told followers he was “getting better” after the hospitalization. A scheduled performance in San Jose was postponed to allow him additional recovery time.

He Returned to Celebrity Boxing Less Than Three Months Later

Despite those health concerns, Ray J returned to competition later in the summer. On August 15, he faced actor Orlando Brown in a three-round celebrity boxing match at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

TMZ reported that Ray J won the bout by unanimous decision, giving him a victory less than three months after the Supa Hot Fire knockout and subsequent hospital stay.
