Sandra Bullock does not make her own go-to margarita. Jennifer Aniston has that job covered.
While promoting Practical Magic 2 with Nicole Kidman, Bullock was asked for her favorite margarita recipe and immediately named her longtime friend. She described Aniston’s version as “very potent” and said she has a “heavy pour.”
Bullock said Aniston uses fresh limes and gets the drink especially frothy. “It is fierce,” she said. “It’s so good and it will knock you on your ass. And it has.”
Kidman, who worked with Aniston in Just Go With It, had one response after hearing the review. Looking toward the camera, she said, “Jen, you got to invite me over.”

The exchange came during a PEOPLE questionnaire with Bullock and Kidman. When Kidman asked for her go-to margarita recipe, Bullock replied, “I don’t do it but a girlfriend of mine makes a very potent fresh one.”
Kidman wanted a name. Bullock answered, “Jen,” prompting an immediate “I knew it” from her Just Go With It costar.
“I don’t know what she does,” Bullock said. “She has a heavy pour.” Bullock joked that whenever she has “suffered” after drinking with Aniston, her friend has been responsible.
Aniston has shared her own margarita basics before. She told InStyle that she prefers silver tequila and lime juice shaken over ice, sometimes with a little Cointreau. She skips sugar, mixes and agave because she does not like sweet drinks, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Their Friendship Started With Shots at a Wedding
Bullock and Aniston became close at a mutual friend’s wedding about 15 years ago. The two spent the night sending each other shots and notes from across the room before deciding they needed to spend more time together.
“We were just like, ‘Oh my God, we need to meet and cut loose,’” Bullock recalled in a 2025 Vanity Fair profile of Aniston. “And we did.”
Bullock remembered the next day’s hangover as “epic.” Aniston admitted she could not remember exactly what she had been sending Bullock but said it was “definitely stronger” than the drinks she was receiving in return.
Bullock also recalled being part of an era when actresses were encouraged to see one another as competition. She said she and Aniston ignored that pressure and built a friendship instead.
‘Practical Magic 2’ Brings Back the Margaritas
Margaritas have followed Bullock through the Practical Magic 2 promotion. The original movie’s midnight margaritas scene became one of its best remembered sequences, with Sally and Gillian Owens drinking and dancing with the other women in their family.
Bullock returned to that image when she joined Instagram on April 14. Her first post showed her pointing toward a blender before it switched on as if by magic. She captioned the video, “Midnight somewhere…” Kidman replied that she would have margaritas with Bullock anytime.
Bullock and Kidman return as Sally and Gillian in the sequel alongside Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Solly McLeod, Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing. Susanne Bier directs.
