Simone Biles was getting ready to shop for a new car when she revealed why she no longer wanted to keep driving her old one.
The seven-time Olympic gold medalist said three masked men came to her Chicago-area home during the final months she and husband Jonathan Owens spent there and stole her Porsche GTS. Biles disclosed the incident in a Sept. 21 TikTok while preparing to look for a replacement, according to People.
The Porsche was eventually recovered, but Biles decided she was ready to move on from it. She also revealed that the theft contributed to the couple’s decision to get a Doberman.
Biles did not say exactly when the theft happened, identify the Chicago-area location or explain how the men obtained the vehicle. She described the full account as a “story for another time.”

“I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole my Porsche,” Biles said in the video. “Stole the GTS.”
Her caption supplied the outcome: “yes we recovered the car, onto the next.”
Biles did not explain why she decided against continuing to use the recovered Porsche, instead turning the video back toward her search for another vehicle.
“The things that happen to me are absolutely insanity,” she said. “It’d be really easy for producers to just film regularly.”
The Theft Was One Reason Biles and Owens Got a Doberman
Biles said the incident also influenced a decision she and Owens made about security.
“That is one of the reasons why we also got our Doberman,” she said.
The couple’s Doberman joined dogs that have regularly appeared on Biles’ social media, although she did not provide additional details about any security changes made after the theft.
Owens also encountered an attempted theft earlier in 2026 while the couple was in Milan for the Winter Olympics. He wrote on X in February that someone tried to grab his shopping bag but failed because he had wrapped the bag around his hand.
Biles has not publicly connected the two incidents or suggested that either involved the same people.
It Is Not Clear Whether the Men Entered the Home
Some coverage of Biles’ revelation has described the incident as a home break-in, but her brief TikTok did not explain whether the three men entered the residence.
Her account was that they “came to our house” and stole the Porsche.
ABC7 Chicago reported that the exact time and location remained unclear and that the station was contacting local authorities for additional information.
Biles also did not identify suspects, describe how the Porsche was taken or explain how it was later recovered.
Biles and Owens Have Since Moved on From Chicago

Owens spent the 2024 and 2025 NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears before signing with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026.
The Colts announced his signing on March 17 after his two seasons in Chicago. Biles has continued spending significant time at the couple’s custom-built Texas home while also traveling to support Owens during the football season.
She recently said she planned to spend more time in Indianapolis as Owens settles into his first season with the Colts.
The couple completed their Texas home in 2025 after several years of construction, giving them a permanent base separate from the temporary homes connected to Owens’ NFL career.
