Christopher Blake Griffith says text messages and phone records obtained during discovery support his allegation that Stefon Diggs helped coordinate a violent attack against him in Los Angeles.
Griffith raised the claims in a July 16 motion asking a federal court in Maryland for permission to file amended counterclaims against the NFL wide receiver. The proposed filing has not yet been accepted as an operative complaint, and no judge has ruled that the records prove Griffith’s account.
According to TMZ Sports, Griffith says the material includes messages concerning flights and lodging for a man he identifies as one of the people who attacked him. He also alleges that phone logs place Diggs in contact with that man while the confrontation was underway.
Griffith Says an Assistant Arranged Travel for an Alleged Attacker

Griffith claims messages produced during discovery show one of Diggs’ assistants discussing flights and hotel arrangements with a man allegedly involved in the Los Angeles confrontation. According to Griffith’s interpretation, those communications occurred on the day of the alleged attack and demonstrate that travel was being coordinated rather than arranged independently.
Griffith further alleges that phone logs show Diggs calling the same man during the period when the attack allegedly occurred. He says surveillance footage from his apartment building shows the man using a phone at approximately the corresponding time. Griffith argues that the overlap between the call records, video and travel communications supports his claim of a coordinated conspiracy.

The proposed amended filing also seeks to add a defamation count based on a recent social-media post from Diggs. In the message, Diggs accused an unnamed man of lying about him after allegedly being caught stealing and criticized people who treated that person as a victim.
Griffith contends that the surrounding context made clear the comments were directed at him. Diggs did not identify Griffith by name in the language reported by TMZ.
The Case Began With Diggs’ Defamation Lawsuit
Diggs originally sued Griffith after he publicly alleged that the football player drugged and sexually assaulted him at Diggs’ Maryland home in May 2023.
Griffith subsequently filed counterclaims repeating those allegations and asserting that Diggs’ brother and other men attacked him in Los Angeles roughly one week later to intimidate or silence him. Diggs denies the accusations and says Griffith fabricated the story.
The federal docket shows that Diggs moved for partial summary judgment on July 14. Two days later, Griffith requested permission to file his amended counterclaims and modify the case schedule.
