Will Smith and his ex-wife, Sheree Zampino, got out of the same SUV at Sydney Airport in late October, laughing as they headed for the terminal. Smith had just finished filming Supermax, the action thriller that brought him to Australia in August.
For Zampino, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sydney was one stop on a longer trip. On November 1, she shared a video from Vietnam and wrote about how much of the world she still wanted to see.
Smith and Zampino, both 58, married in 1992 and divorced in 1995. Their son, Trey, now 33, was two when they split. Smith recalled in a 2020 Red Table Talk conversation that divorcing Trey’s mother felt like the greatest failure of his adult life.
Smith married Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997. In 2023, Pinkett Smith revealed that she and her husband had lived apart since 2016. A source told People in July 2026 that she had moved back in with Smith roughly two years earlier.
Smith Stops for Fans and Praises Sydney’s Restaurants
Smith wore a blue hoodie, gray sweatpants and a white cap for the flight. Zampino dressed in black and carried a green tote and a shopping bag from Banksia Bakehouse, a Sydney bakery.
Fans caught up with Smith on his way through the airport. In footage published by TMZ, he signed autographs and leaned in for selfies. When someone asked how he’d liked Sydney, it was the city’s restaurants he singled out.
Smith Plays an FBI Agent Investigating a Prison Murder in ‘Supermax’
Smith announced the end of filming on Instagram on October 28. He shared photos from the set and one from an encounter with a koala. “Thanx for the hospitality Sydney,” he wrote.
In his first movie shoot since Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Smith plays Rex, one of two FBI agents sent to investigate a murder inside a maximum-security prison. David Gordon Green directed the thriller, which also stars AnnaSophia Robb, Jason Clarke and Jaafar Jackson. Amazon acquired worldwide rights to the film for Prime Video, according to TheWrap.
The crew filmed in Sydney and around Lake Macquarie. When production began, Screen NSW estimated the shoot would generate more than 53 million Australian dollars in local spending and create 290 jobs in the state.
Jada Pinkett Smith Recalls the Trips Sheree Zampino Took With the Family
Years before the Sydney trip, Pinkett Smith talked with Zampino on Red Table Talk about how travel worked in their family. During the October 2022 episode, Pinkett Smith gave the example of a book tour. Zampino might join Smith, his mother and his sister even when Pinkett Smith stayed home.
The two women also remembered a drop-off that went badly when Trey was young. Zampino had barely stepped inside when Pinkett Smith wanted to discuss how Trey had behaved during a playdate at his mother’s house. “Go get his daddy, please,” Zampino recalled telling her. Looking back, Pinkett Smith agreed she had overstepped.
For conversations they found hard to have face to face, the women came up with a workaround. They wrote to each other in a journal and passed it back and forth when they dropped Trey off.
On June 24, Trey joined his father and stepmother in Paris for his younger brother Jaden’s Christian Louboutin menswear presentation. Their sister Willow and Pinkett Smith’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, were there to support Jaden, the brand’s men’s creative director.
