Aaron Rodgers spent approximately three hours inside a Los Angeles gym days before reporting for what he says will be the final training camp of his NFL career.
TMZ Sports photographed the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback leaving a Gold’s Gym location in athletic clothing and carrying a backpack. Rodgers continued walking when the outlet attempted to ask him questions.
The 42-year-old was at the facility shortly before Pittsburgh’s players were due in Pennsylvania.
The Steelers report to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe on Tuesday, July 28. Rodgers enters his second season with Pittsburgh and his first back under Mike McCarthy, the coach with whom he won Super Bowl XLV in Green Bay.
Rodgers Spent About Three Hours Inside Gold’s Gym
TMZ Sports described the visit as a lengthy workout session but did not publish details about Rodgers’ routine. There was no indication that the gym appearance involved injury rehabilitation or treatment.
Rodgers did not stop to discuss his preparation, the upcoming season or his reunion with McCarthy. The quarterback signed a one-year contract to return to Pittsburgh in May after considering whether to end his career following the Steelers’ playoff exit.
Steelers Players Report to Camp on July 28
The Steelers’ camp schedule lists July 28 as the reporting date for all players. The first practice open to the public is scheduled for July 29 at 11 a.m., with the team’s first padded session set for August 3.
Rodgers completed 327 of 498 passes for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions during his first Pittsburgh season. He started 16 games as the Steelers finished 10-7 and won the AFC North before losing 30-6 to the Houston Texans in the wild-card round.
Mike Tomlin stepped down after the playoff loss, and Pittsburgh hired McCarthy in January. Rodgers played under McCarthy for 13 seasons with the Packers and said the coaching change helped reopen his mind to returning for another year.
Rodgers Says the 2026 Season Will Be His Last
Rodgers confirmed his retirement plans during the Steelers’ organized team activities in May. Asked whether 2026 would be his final season, he replied, “Yes. This is it.”
The upcoming campaign will be Rodgers’ 22nd in the NFL. He enters camp with 66,274 career passing yards, 527 touchdown passes, four league MVP awards and one Super Bowl championship.
Pittsburgh’s quarterback room also includes Mason Rudolph, Will Howard and rookie Drew Allar. The Steelers open their preseason schedule against Rodgers’ former team, the Green Bay Packers, at Acrisure Stadium on August 13.
