Adam Peaty says preparing to welcome a daughter with wife Holly Ramsay is pushing him to “grow up” as the couple settles into married life.
The Olympic swimmer discussed the pregnancy during a new BBC Breakfast interview, later covered by GB News. Peaty described the couple’s wedding at Bath Abbey as “one of the best days” of his life.
The child will be their first together and Peaty’s second; he is already the father of five-year-old George from his previous relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro.
Peaty also called celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay an “incredible blessing” as a father-in-law.

Peaty said he was “incredibly excited” about expanding his family and described fatherhood as one of the most important parts of his life. Unlike his results in the pool, he said, the love he receives from his children is not dependent on winning a medal.
His immediate concern is Holly and the baby’s health as the pregnancy progresses. He said the responsibility of welcoming another child has encouraged him to continue maturing away from the intense sporting environment that shaped much of his adult life.
Holly revealed the pregnancy through an Instagram post showing the couple together in their garden. “Baby Ramsay-Peaty coming December 2026,” she wrote, adding that they could not wait to meet their daughter.
Gordon responded that he expected to become an “overexcited grandad,” particularly because the baby is due around Christmas. Holly is the first of the six children Gordon shares with wife Tana Ramsay to announce that she is expecting a child.
Peaty Still Remembers Holly Walking Down the Aisle
Peaty said he retains a clear mental image of Holly entering Bath Abbey for their Dec. 27 wedding. He recalled the church music and the sight of his future wife walking toward him as details he does not expect to forget.
The couple married in front of guests including David and Victoria Beckham. Holly wore a custom Elie Saab gown for the ceremony before changing into her mother Tana’s 1996 wedding dress for the couple’s first dance.
Peaty’s sister Bethany served as one of Holly’s bridesmaids, but his parents, Caroline and Mark, and his brothers did not attend amid a widely reported family dispute.
Gordon Ramsay Has Become a Major Influence
Peaty’s description of Gordon as a blessing follows earlier comments about the chef’s influence on his return to elite swimming. In April, he said he took guidance from Gordon’s experience of running demanding businesses and respected his understanding that results require discipline and sustained work.
Gordon has been equally public about welcoming Peaty into the Ramsay family. After the wedding, he said Peaty had begun calling him “dad” and described Holly and Adam as a couple he and Tana were proud to support.
Peaty Is Still Looking Toward the Pool
Peaty is preparing to represent England at his fourth Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The 31-year-old has won six Olympic medals, including three golds, and has also committed to pursuing a place at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
