Adrien Broner is facing an arrest warrant more than two years after police say he returned to a Florida casino despite having been banned from the property for life.
The former four-division world champion is charged with criminal trespass in connection with an April 2024 incident at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
A Seminole Police Department report cited by the outlet says Broner had received a lifetime ban from the property in August 2023 but returned the following April, leading to his arrest.
The timeline contains another unanswered detail. Broner was back at the Seminole Hard Rock on June 7, 2024, roughly two months after the alleged trespass arrest, when he fought Blair Cobbs in the main event of a sanctioned professional boxing card at Hard Rock Live.
The Police Report Does Not Explain Why Broner Was Banned
The lifetime ban cited in the police report dates to August 2023. TMZ’s report does not say what led the Seminole Hard Rock to bar Broner from the property, and the details made public do not establish whether the restriction was connected to gambling, another incident at the casino or something else.
Police were called back to the property over an alleged trespass in April 2024. According to the account cited by TMZ, officers found Broner there despite the earlier notice and arrested him.
TMZ said the case had “dragged on for years” before the court recently issued the arrest warrant, but no additional explanation for the delay was included in its report.
He Fought at the Same Hard Rock Two Months Later
Broner’s return to the property for boxing is independently documented. Official Florida Athletic Commission records list the June 7, 2024 event as a Don King and Heavyweight Factory boxing card held at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, with Broner facing Cobbs in a 10-round bout.
The World Boxing Council also promoted the event in advance as taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Broner participated in the fight-week promotion before meeting Cobbs in the main event.
Cobbs won by unanimous decision. Broner was dropped in the second round, and the judges ultimately scored the fight 97-91, 96-93 and 96-93 for Cobbs.
The Cobbs Loss Is Still Broner’s Most Recent Professional Fight
Broner entered the Cobbs fight with a 35-4-1 professional record. He had previously won world championships at super featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and super lightweight, becoming a champion across four divisions.
The loss moved his record to 35-5-1. Current boxing records still list the June 7, 2024 defeat to Cobbs as Broner’s most recent professional bout, despite subsequent talk of another comeback. TMZ reported that Broner had not responded to its request for comment on the case.
