All American actress Monet Mazur narrowly avoided a burglary at her Hollywood Hills home after three masked suspects reportedly reached her front door late Saturday night.
The group tried to get inside the residence before the home’s security alarm activated, according to TMZ. The alarm sent the suspects running before they gained entry or took anything.
An earlier New York Post report said Mazur saw the group on her security cameras and confronted them. TMZ later cited a law-enforcement source who specifically disputed that account, saying nobody inside the home confronted the suspects.
Los Angeles police responded to a burglary call and began investigating, but the three suspects were gone by the time officers arrived. No injuries or theft were reported.
Three Masked Suspects Reached Mazur’s Front Door

The attempted break-in happened late Saturday, September 26, at Mazur’s Hollywood Hills residence.
Law-enforcement sources told TMZ that at least three people wearing ski masks approached the house and tried to open the front door. Someone was inside the residence at the time, although the outlet’s source did not identify that person.
The security system activated before the suspects made it inside. All three fled the property empty-handed.
The Post identified Mazur as the person who was home and reported that she was there with her dog. Video recorded after the attempted break-in showed the actress outside the residence while police investigated.
The footage also showed officers around the property, while the Post reported that a police helicopter searched the surrounding Hollywood Hills area.
Reports Differ Over Whether Mazur Confronted the Suspects
The initial account of what happened immediately before the suspects fled differs from the version subsequently attributed to law enforcement.
The Post reported that Mazur spotted the masked individuals through her surveillance system and confronted them, causing the group to realize somebody was home.
TMZ’s sources agreed that three masked people approached the door and that someone was inside, but one law-enforcement source told the outlet that the person in the residence “never confronted the suspects.” TMZ instead reported that the alarm activated and prompted the group to run.
Mazur has not publicly described the encounter herself, and TMZ reported that her representatives had not responded to a request for comment when its story was published.
Video of Mazur outside the home after police arrived confirms her presence during the response, but does not establish whether she interacted with the suspects before they fled.
Police Searched the Hollywood Hills After the Attempted Break-In
LAPD officers responded to the property after receiving a burglary call, but the suspects had already disappeared.
The Post reported that officers searched the surrounding area with assistance from a police helicopter. No suspects were located in the immediate aftermath.
Video from the scene also appeared to show pepper spray near the front door. Available reporting does not establish who brought it there or whether it was used during the incident.
TMZ’s law-enforcement sources said nobody was injured and no property was taken. The investigation remained ongoing when the outlet published its report Monday morning.
The Scare Came Days Before the ‘All American’ Series Finale
The attempted break-in occurred two days before All American reaches the end of its eight-season run on September 28.
Mazur has played Laura Baker since the CW drama premiered in 2018. After stepping away from regular-cast status following Season 6, she returned during the final season as several longtime characters came back for the show’s farewell.
The CW’s official series listing says the finale, “To Live and Die in L.A.,” brings together friends and family from different generations as the series closes one chapter and begins others. Mazur’s Laura remains part of the final storyline, with Olivia, played by Samantha Logan, turning to her mother while facing an important decision.
The role has been Mazur’s longest-running television part. Laura began the series as the wife of Billy Baker, played by Taye Diggs, and mother of Olivia and Jordan before her story expanded to include her career as an attorney and district attorney.
