Anne Hathaway’s Today appearance turned unexpectedly emotional when a movie-promo stop became a sweet pregnancy moment.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Hathaway appeared on the show with The Odyssey costar Tom Holland when Craig Melvin surprised her with a baby gift.

Melvin introduced the surprise by saying the show wanted to celebrate Hathaway and her baby on the way. The gift was a custom Odyssey-inspired outfit made for the child she is expecting with husband Adam Shulman.
Entertainment Weekly described the outfit as a Trojan-style baby look with a helmet, crocheted diaper cover, sandals and cape. Hathaway immediately teared up and called the gift “appropriately epic.” Hathaway was on the show to promote The Odyssey, in which she plays Penelope, while Holland plays Telemachus.
Hathaway was not alone during the segment. Holland, who was seated beside her, reacted warmly to the tiny costume and helped keep the exchange playful. Holland also joked along as Hathaway took in the miniature costume.
The Pregnancy Has Been a Joyful Surprise
Hathaway has already spoken about how unexpected this pregnancy felt for her and Shulman. People previously reported that she described their expectations as low before baby No. 3, while Entertainment Weekly covered her joking description of the baby as their “buzzer-beater.”
Hathaway and Shulman, who married in 2012, are already parents to sons Jonathan and Jack.
