Tom Holland reacted quickly when a gust of wind caught Zendaya’s short black dress as the married couple left their New York hotel.
Video and photographs from the outing showed Zendaya reaching toward the hem while Holland moved beside her and helped keep the voluminous skirt under control.
The moment happened as they headed to a Gold House x OpenTable dinner at Wokuni, a Japanese restaurant in New York, on Thursday, July 16. The outing came at the end of a busy week promoting Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.

Zendaya placed a hand near the front of her skirt, while Holland stepped close and reached toward the dress before the fabric could rise any further.
Holland remained beside her as they moved toward their waiting vehicle. Zendaya appeared unfazed after the brief interruption and continued holding her husband’s hand.
Zendaya Wore Black Elie Saab for the Dinner
Zendaya wore a black raw-silk wrap dress from Elie Saab’s fall 2026 collection. The dress featured a plunging neckline, a corsage-style floral detail at the waist and a full, short skirt.
She added sheer black tights and pointed Christian Louboutin pumps. Vogue reported that her jewelry included earrings, a gold watch, her Jessica McCormack engagement ring and a wedding band.
She wore her natural hair in the short, side-parted “bixie” cut seen throughout the later stages of the press tour. Holland chose a navy sweater layered over a pale blue shirt, jeans and black Chelsea boots.
At the New York premiere on July 14, she wore a white Matières Fécales gown with an asymmetrical neckline, a feather-inspired train and large wings. She then arrived for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a gold Jitrois corset dress with a thigh-high slit.
It Was Not the First Time Holland Helped With Her Dress
Holland assisted Zendaya with another dress during a Bero padel tournament in Los Angeles on April 29. InStyle reported that video from the event showed him fastening the back of her blue-and-white patterned dress after it appeared to come undone.
He stepped in again at the June 23 Rome premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Zendaya wore a sheer vintage Giorgio Armani gown from the designer’s 1990 collection, decorated with a crystal spiderweb pattern.
The couple has generally kept its private relationship outside promotional appearances, but their overlapping Spider-Man and Odyssey schedules have brought several joint events in recent weeks.
Zendaya and Holland Are Promoting The Odyssey as Husband and Wife
Holland recently confirmed that he and Zendaya had married after years of keeping major relationship milestones private.
During a WIRED interview, Holland was asked whether Zendaya’s Odyssey character, Athena, loved Matt Damon’s Odysseus romantically. He answered no and joked that the goddess could not love Odysseus because “she’s married to me.”
Zendaya plays Athena in Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic, while Holland portrays Telemachus, the son of Odysseus and Penelope. The film opened in theaters on July 17.
