Justice Sonia Sotomayor disclosed receiving $4,333 in concert tickets from Rimas Entertainment during a private trip to Puerto Rico in August 2025. Reuters reported that Rimas is Bad Bunny’s label, though the disclosure form did not identify the performer connected to the tickets.
The detail moved quickly from court-finance coverage into entertainment headlines because Bad Bunny performed a series of Puerto Rico shows that month, according to The Associated Press.
The Tickets Were Listed as a Gift
TMZ reported that the tickets were for Sotomayor and guests while she was in Puerto Rico. The outlet reported that Rimas Entertainment was founded by Noah Assad, Bad Bunny’s longtime manager, and represents other Latin music artists as well.
AP reported that the paperwork listed the $4,333 gift from Rimas Entertainment, while noting that Bad Bunny was performing on the island during that same period.
Reuters reported the tickets as part of Sotomayor’s annual financial disclosure, which also showed $88,100 in royalties for her children’s books.

Sotomayor was born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents and has often spoken publicly about her Puerto Rican roots. Bad Bunny, one of Puerto Rico’s biggest global music exports, had a high-profile run of shows on the island in August 2025.
AP reported that the concert ticket disclosure came from Rimas Entertainment, the label closely tied to Bad Bunny’s career. The performer’s name, however, was not listed on the form.
The Detail Stood Out in Larger Court Disclosures
The concert-ticket line was only one part of the annual financial disclosures released for Supreme Court justices. Reuters reported that Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson disclosed a $1.18 million book advance for her memoir, while Justice Amy Coney Barrett reported more than $849,000 in book royalties.
Justice Neil Gorsuch reported about $300,000 in book royalties, and Justice Samuel Alito received an extension and had not filed his 2025 report when the disclosures were released, according to Reuters.
The Associated Press reported that the annual forms also included teaching income, travel reimbursements and other gifts received by members of the court.
Other Justices Also Reported Outside Income
Reuters reported that Barrett and Justice Brett Kavanaugh each earned $33,285 from teaching at Notre Dame Law School. Chief Justice John Roberts reported $25,000 in teaching compensation from New England Law.
Justice Clarence Thomas reported $18,000 from teaching at Catholic University, while Gorsuch reported $30,380 in teaching income from George Mason University, according to Reuters.
