Blake Shelton’s 50th birthday has turned into a look back at one of music’s most unexpected celebrity romances.
The country star reached the milestone on June 18, and People marked the occasion with a photo retrospective of his relationship with Gwen Stefani.
Shelton and Stefani first met in 2014 while working as coaches on The Voice. They began dating in 2015, after Stefani’s split from Gavin Rossdale and Shelton’s divorce from Miranda Lambert.
The couple married on July 3, 2021, at Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Their fifth wedding anniversary is now just weeks away.
The Voice Started Their Relationship
Shelton and Stefani’s relationship began as a friendship on The Voice, where their music backgrounds could not have looked more different. He was already one of country music’s biggest names, while she was known as the frontwoman of No Doubt and a solo pop star.

Shelton’s 50th birthday lands shortly before the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary on July 3. Their Oklahoma wedding was officiated by Carson Daly, their longtime The Voice colleague.
Stefani wore custom Vera Wang wedding looks, while Shelton wore a tuxedo jacket with jeans for the ceremony. The wedding took place in a chapel built on Shelton’s ranch.
