Brad Pitt and Ines de Ramon are making a habit of choosing championship matches for date day.

The couple attended the US Open women’s singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Sept. 12, where Elena Rybakina faced two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka. Just Jared photographed Pitt and de Ramon arriving for the match, while Pitt also stopped for selfies with spectators.

They ended up watching a change at the top of women’s tennis. Rybakina defeated Sabalenka in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 6-2, to win her first US Open title and third Grand Slam championship.

For Pitt and de Ramon, the New York outing continued a summer that has repeatedly put them in the stands together. They watched another women’s Grand Slam final in Paris in June, then turned up at a World Cup quarterfinal in California the following month.

This Was Their Second Women’s Grand Slam Final in Three Months

Pitt and de Ramon were in the stands at Roland Garros on June 6 when 19-year-old Mirra Andreeva defeated qualifier Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 6-2 to win her first Grand Slam title in the French Open women’s final.

The Paris appearance also became a fashion moment. Vogue photographed the couple in coordinated summer neutrals, with Pitt wearing a pale-blue shirt and beige trousers while de Ramon paired a cream embroidered dress with an olive-toned leather jacket.

Photographers captured the pair smiling, leaning toward each other and watching the match from Court Philippe-Chatrier. Three months later, they were back at another women’s major final on the opposite side of the Atlantic.

Their US Open appearance was less formal than a red carpet. Pitt posed for selfies with fans around the stands before he and de Ramon settled into their seats, where they joined a celebrity-heavy crowd that also included Amy Adams, Pink, Elizabeth Banks and former US Open champion Maria Sharapova.

Big Sporting Events Have Become Regular Dates for the Couple

Pitt and de Ramon attended Spain’s World Cup quarterfinal against Belgium on July 10 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where they were joined by Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem.

Spain won 2-1. De Ramon dressed in Spain’s colors and added face paint in support of the team, while Pitt wore a Team USA top despite the United States not being involved in the quarterfinal.

The appearance continued a pattern that predates this summer. Pitt and de Ramon attended the British Grand Prix together at Silverstone in July 2024, then made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Venice International Film Festival that September. They were first linked in 2022.

The relationship also became more visible on social media this summer. After Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July wedding, de Ramon reshared photographs of herself with Pitt to her Instagram Story, a move TMZ described as the couple going Instagram official.

Rybakina Ended Their Date as the New US Open Champion

Pitt and de Ramon were watching a final with more at stake than the trophy. Rybakina had already guaranteed that she would become world No. 1 by reaching the championship match, while Sabalenka entered Saturday trying to win the US Open for a third consecutive year.

After Rybakina took the opening set, Sabalenka fought back to force a decider. Rybakina then pulled away in the third, winning 6-2 to complete the 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 victory. Reuters reported that the title was Rybakina’s third major after Wimbledon in 2022 and the Australian Open earlier this year.

The victory also made Rybakina only the third woman this century to win both hard-court Grand Slams in the same season. When the new rankings are released, she will officially replace Sabalenka at No. 1, ending the Belarusian’s 99-week consecutive run at the top.
